Cheryl D. Creuzot, CFP, J.D., LL.M.

Cheryl D. Creuzot, CFP, J.D., LL.M. is President and Chief Executive Officer of Wealth Development Strategies L.P. Ms. Creuzot began her career in the financial services industry in 1981 when she graduated with honors from the University of Houston. In 1984 she earned the designation of Certified Financial Planner. She has been admitted to the Registry of Financial Planning Practitioners, and holds the Series 24 (Registered Principal), Series 7, and Series 63 Securities licenses, as well as Group 1 Life and Health and Variable Insurance licenses. She earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Houston Law Center in May 1992, and a Masters of Law degree in Taxation from the University of Houston Law Center, as well, in August 1999. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Million Dollar Round Table, and the State Bar of Texas. In addition, she is a Registered Player Financial Advisor for the National Football League.

Ms. Creuzot participates in numerous political and charitable functions, is Chair of the University of Houston Alumni Organization, Vice Chair of the Houston Museum of African American Culture, and serves on the Board of Unity National Bank. She has served as Chair of the Museum of Fine Arts 5A Gala (2004), Chair of the United Negro College Fund Black Tie Gala (2005), and Chair of the 2007 Concert at the Villa, benefiting Catholic Charities’ AIDS Ministry. In May 2007, Ms. Creuzot served as Chair and Title Sponsor of the Texas Women’s Empowerment Foundation’s annual fundraising event. In September 1993, Ms. Creuzot was appointed by Governor Ann Richards to a six-year term on the Texas Public Finance Authority Board. She served as Vice Chairwoman of that board from June 1995 to August 1997. She is also a former State Co-Chair of the Women’s Leadership Forum of the Democratic National Committee. She is a former member of the boards of the University of Houston Law Alumni Association, the Ensemble Theatre, Project Row Houses, and the Menil Collection.

Ms. Creuzot has published many articles on financial planning, and has been quoted in several national publications, including MONEY Magazine, Mutual Funds Magazine and Black Enterprise Magazine. For several years, she co-hosted a financial radio program which aired on KPRC, called “Organizing Your Life”. Ms. Creuzot was featured in the August 2000 issue of MONEY Magazine, and was named Financial Planner of the Month of October 2000 in Mutual Funds Magazine. She was also selected as one of the Top 100 Advisors in the country by Mutual Funds Magazine in 2001 as well as 2002.

Ms. Creuzot has addressed conferences for various organizations, including the State of the Black Union, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, MegaFest, the National Conference of Black MBAs, and the Junior League of Houston. Ms. Creuzot was awarded the 2001 Super Achiever Award by the Greater Houston YMCA, and is proud to have been honored by the March of Dimes in 2002, 2004 and 2006 for her community service. She received the 2004 National Black MBA (Houston Chapter) Leadership Empowerment Award. Recently she was presented with the Corporate Sector Achievement Award by the University of Houston Law Alumni Association. She was also selected to participate in the Center for Houston’s Future Leadership Forum, a business and community partnership. She has been honored by the Houston Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation as a Woman of Distinction for 2008. She is married and has three children.
