I AM GLAD TO KNOW THAT AN AMERICAN CAN FOLLOW HIS WIFE PAHT BACK TO HER HOME LAND. FOR MANY AMERICAN HUSBANDS/WIFES, THINK THAT US CARIBBEAN ARE BENEATH THEM. WHICH I DO NOT MIND. I CAME HERE FOCUS, FOR MY FATHER SAID TO ME, DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH CITIZENS OR THERE TROUBLES, FOR IT WILL GET YOU NOWHERE. MY ROBINSON IS ONE OUT OF A THOUSAND. I THINK HIS MOVE WILL ADD MORE YEARS TO HIS LIFE. ENJOY THE FRESH AIR AND FRESH FOOD.

I have been many places in the world, and my focus of travel as been Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. I always feel sad when I return to the US. I Like the thought of going to my house and seeing my family but returning to the US proper hasalways made me sad. I use to think it was just me.

Sounds like you are running to me Randall Robinson. You can't convince me, at your age, that you don't know how far we have come as a people in this country. These people have done injustices to people all over the world. But people from all over the world are dying to get into this country. I will travel the world one day but God put me here for a reason and I will fight for the uplifting of my people until the day I die, right here in the US of A. the country my father built. You say America ?fee unneedful of any se

I'm a French-African leaving in France and just coming from a one-year stay in Central Africa( in my original country: republic of Congo-Brazzaville).Mr Cose should come here in France and see how Black people are very very ill-treated: unsignificant apparition in TV,radio, magazines. We don't have strict laws protecting us at the work place. Thus, as a consultant in a "Big 4", I faced real unpunished discrimination. To sump up, generally speaking: a white boss in France is to think:"She's a good worker but she's Black...[so

I commend Mr. Robinson for taking a step that I so want to follow. I understand his frustration with an unapologetic America and Europe for the horrific crimes of humanity on the black and brown peoples of the world. Yet, somehow we have to keep makingthe case.

GREAT! I too have left the United States to make another country (Nigeria) my home! With all of the complaints i have about America, i realize now how lucky i am to be an American.I have made the CHOICE to have the best of both worlds. Get out of the slave mentality! You CAN go past the borders and across waters to different lands. Take the shackles off your minds. It's okay. We all need to broaden our horizons, expand our perspectives, and think, live and visit outside the borders.

I am happy that Randall Robinson has decided to make his new home on St. Kitts. I am from that Island and presently reside in the USA.I plan to return to live in St. Kitts in three years.ST. Kitts is only one hour away from Puerto Rico.If you have a profession you should be able to live comfortably. The educational system is excellent.I look forward to getting away from the racism and hyprocrisy I encounter in the United States on a frequent basis.

I understand why he left. If I had financial means, I'm sure I would do the same thing. I think for some Blk ppl it may be a "good" thing to do, in order to get a new perspective.

I also feel comfortable through out the Black World. I live in Rogers Park, a Northside neighborhood in Chicago, Il. which houses many of our Cousins from Africa, South America and the Carribean. I have formed intimate relationships, working relationships and friendships with these mostly wonderful people. I was born in North Carolina in The late forty's, therefore, I do understand feeling wornout from living in this country. It somtimes feels like I've lived in a mental war zone my entire life. I'm an expat living in Mexico for the past 10-years. I didn't feel like an citizen of the U.S. ; I didn't share the confidence, pride and arrogance that so many whites feel in being an American; so I left. I decided that if I'm going to feel and be treated like a foreigner, it's better for me to live in a foreign country.

Sometimes leaving something that is distasteful and repugnant can improve when you move. Like living among village idiots, who would know if there isn't a model to make comparisons. It might make someone a better person but the village won't get smarter. Peace and blessings Mr. Robinson the struggle still continues.

I appreciate reading Randall Robinson's opinions about America. African-Americans need to look beyond America to understand the traditions and policies that, across the board, has kept the "Black & Brown world" at the low end of the socio-economic scaleall over the world. We also need to reintroduce our past to a generation that seems disconnected from it. Encourage our young to see the world, even if we or our parents haven't, by promoting international study! That's one powerful way to open a mind and it's a great way t

I have read a number of Mr. Robinson's work and have always been impressed by his lucidity and courage to express some less than popular ideas. I wish him and his family the very best of "the rest of the Black world". Blacks in America are often very shielded from their "overseas" brothers and sisters. Mr. Robinson is putting his new home where his mouth is.

I am was born and raised outside of America. I resided in America for 12 years (from 20 through 32). I was appreciative of all America afforded me but I too became disillusioned by how America treats not only Blacks - but its own people in general. I am happy to be back in my own small country. Contrary to popular belief, bigger is always not better.

I have known Randall Robinson for many years and read his works, as well as followed his work with TransAfrica. Like many of us, who are Black professionals, he has the luxury to contemplate flight from the U.S.--the belly of the beast. But for the greatmass of our people, who do not have such a luxury, the struggle continues right here in a place where none of us are at home. Traveling abroad is sobering and often inspiring. Mr. Robinson's books speak for themselves. He articulates quit well what a lot of the ancestors of slaves feel and may not get a chance to say. "give up his US citizenship" this sort of ignorance serves to mask the problem. We (African Americans) are constantly told to "go back" when we didn't come here, repatriate when we did not expatriate (Africa). Our ancestors were brought here as slaves. At this point it is our choice. Good to see Mr. Robinson made his...

US citizenship is a privilege not a right - if Mr. Robinson wants to leave, fine, but then he has to give up his US citizenship. Mr. Robinson loves Cuba and the white man who rules the island - the sad thing is that Robinson never cared about a BLACK jailed Cuban human rights activist called Dr. Biscet who Castro is now persecuting. www.biscet.org
