I am very upset the wire is gone. I loved all the seasons except the last one. The focused too much on the news room and the politics. I wanted to see more of Marlo and his crew. I also wanted to see Mike come up. But over all it was a wonderful show. My husband and I would tivo the show to make sure we didn't miss out on anything.

-Tammy

You were excited everytime you knew it was coming on you could not wait for the next episode, you would call your friends on the phone and say Girl did you see it last night. If you had the series on DVD you could not loan it out, because conviently youwould not get it back. (LMAO)

-yvonne

I love the Wire and am watching Season 4 now. Eagerly waiting Season 5, which I have not yet seen.

-yvonne

Jamie Hector's eyes! He has an ability to communicate so much without saying a word, which is why toward the end of the show i found myself wondering what the character was thinking about in regards to this circumstance or that one. He became a tragic hero to me, instead of the cold villain i initially felt him to be.

-H-Town Supreme

I think the combination of Idris Elba and Wood Harris definately did it for the ladies. Not to mention the overall content of the show as well. This show was a great depiction of the inner city life and it was very realistic in many ways.

-CT

I loved most of the characters, the actors was great. The first three seasons was the best, but the fifth season was exciting too. I miss STRINGER BELL, why did he have to die, he was intelligent and sexy!!

-Erica

Why We loved "The Wire" Avon, Omar, Bunk, Marlo, Chris, Micheal,Snoop and Number One reason why I loved "The Wire" Stinger Bell!!!!!!!!!!!!!! said.

-suzmit2000@yahoo.com

Two words. "Stringer Bell"

I have become a fan of his acting abilities.

"Sometime in April" sealed the deal for me. Idris Elba is one heck of an actor that I hope becomes more recognized for his incredible ability to act.

And who can forget our favorite politican...you know...sh*******t. You know how we do!

I watched The Wire for the first time last January. I immediately rented the previous seasons to bring me up to speed on the inside happenings. I continued to watch because I loved the four teenagers Namond, Dukie, Randy and Michael. Their experiences were disheartening, but I loved to watch because the show was so real. I received a glamorous view of people in high places making decisions based on "feelings" and not reality. My primary reason for watching was for Stringer Bell (Idris Elba) because he issooooooooooo fine. N

Why does all the good shows die young? I wanted The Wire to stay on as long as Gun Smoke! I really hated it when they did not kill off Mario Stanfield in the end. That was a cold brother!

-Barbara C. Dallas,tex.

The Wire was the most incredible television series I have ever watched. An emotional roller coaster: Especially Season Four. The cast extraodinary. Kudos to a job well done. I must thank my son for making me aware of this unforgettable series.

-Inez Robinson

Why I loved "The Wire"...just one name... Marlo Stanfield! It hurt when he did Prop Joe in! Just close ya eyes.

-Kimmy B,, White Plains, NY

I loved the show from the very beginning and have added previous seasons to my collection. I can't wait for the final season to become available. My favorite episode was when Snoop went into the store to buy the nail gun and was talking to the salesperson. The previous season that focused on the children was the best. I hated to see Snoop get killed, but she took it like a man. I will miss the Wire, but look forward to seeing many of the actors in other projects.

-Karen B, Baltimore, MD

Dukie totally made me cry! ALl that boy needed was someone to guide him and he would have been straight.

That was the sadest part for me I kept rewinding it because I thought I was seeing things. Snoop getting killed was hot though...she went out like a true gangstress!

-Nina Boston, MA

I would have to say The Wire has been the best thing on television in a long time. The writers really got it right this time!!!!! I am so sad that it has come to an end. My favorite scene and memory was when Stringer Bell was taken out by Omar and the muslim. And of course when Mike took out Snoop.

-Angela, Lewisville TX

I would have to say when Michael took out Snoop and when Slim gave Cheese exactly what he deserved "that was for Joe"!!! I was sooo happy!!

-A.P. Ft. Lauderdale, FL

I am truly sad that this show is off the air. I thought there was so much more to see. It ended well but just too soon. I'm going to be lost on sunday nights now. I definitely plan to buy the collection and start over. It was just one of those shows where you could never get enough and it'll be nice to go back and see the old characters and relive the stories again.

Wow, my favorite monents...so many:

- Michael taking out snoop, "how does my hair look"? "It looks real good, girl"? ha ha ha

- Slim takingout Cheese...t

I enjoyed the show from start to finish. I found myself crying inside for the many parents who watched the show and missed the real story. Our children are being "crafted" for the same type of fate of each of the main characters in the show. Lets just hope we can save one parent, one child, one community. Brilliant work.

-Mr. Greg./New Orleans

The wire hit home in the sense that it showed us one family member in everyone's family.Hopefully it will motivate all of us to stay focus and reinforce our young to strive for better living. This show was a "God" send. I will truly miss being a couch potato for the wire because I am not one for TV but I focused on this show with my teen daughter. All the characters ended with a bang and Dukie broke my heart.Omar dying killed me.Letting Marlo walked was too much to handle.

-Deveva Wilson/Springfield Gdns

Whew! Where can I start? Why I LOVED The Wire? The list may be too long. But, what I have to mention is the show was real. Not in the "keepin it real" sense but I felt the characters pain, happiness, and disappointments. I will miss what I did not see coming, those surprises, the writers kept me guessing what would come next. Omar's death, Dookie's addiction, Snoop's murder, The Wire is one of the best shows that has ever been on TV.

-Crystal Miner

The Wire aired its final episode and they didn't leave us hanging. Thank you! We don't have to wonder "What happened to ....." This was one of the best written shows i've watched in a long time. The acting was phenomenal and it gave unknown actors a platform to shine and boy did they shine. My favorite memory is when Avon walked through the pit with Stringer, man thinking about that scene gives me chills.

-BKNY

The Wire gave me the chance to earn my all of my SAG credits. They employed local actors when no one else would. I'm greatful!

I too agree that this was the best show on television, it captured the harsh and true realities of America's cities. However, I am still in disbelief of the outcome of the character Dukie, very heartbreaking, he had promise. Sad to see this show come to an end :-(

The actors where outstanding and deserve awards in this area. Outstanding cast and crew!!!...Love, love, love the show.

-What am I going to do on Sundays :-(

Thw wire was just the best show on TV. I'm upset that if never garnewr the praise it deserved. I was a fan of the sopranos as well but the 2 don't compare. Not only was the Wire the better show but I was highly important and educational to all viewers, despite race or gender.

Omar deserves to go down in character Hall of Fame. Hated to see bodie get rocked. The scene with Michael and Snoop was classic TV. Dukie becoming an addict breaks your heart. Too many of the bad guys won in the end. More than entertainment the Wire

I AM SO SAD, TO SEE THAT THE WIRE SHARED ITS LAST

SHOW ON LAST NITE.. I TRULY ENJOYED ALL THE ACTORS AND ACTRESSES.. I WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE THAT

The Wire should inspire those of us that live in Urban areas to create solutions , business, and alternative educational institutions so that our communities can thrive . This would be a better way and Faith-based institutions can no longer turn a blind eye they to must become involved with the revitslizantion of our cities and we should elect people that truly will work for the people. No one should ever have to kill or hustle just to "eat"/survive.

-Fatima M.Washington,D.C.

I'm so sad to see The Wire come to an end, being a native of Baltimore the show truly captured the realities of the city. Those of us that live in Urban areas around the nation could relate to the characters portrails, I've moved to Washington,D.C. some 9 years ago and once The Wire became popular here many here in Washington,D.C. would ask me if The Wire was real& if Baltimore was really that harse and I answered them"Yes". It may have shown a negative side to our city , but it should also inspire all of us that live in Urb

-Fatima M. ,Washington,D.C.

I have been serious about the Wire since day one. But this last season was the most intense. Last night during the Finale, I actually put my 12-year old son out of my room because he would not stop talking and I'd warned him that I could not be disturbed during that hour and a half. I'm so sad to see it come to an end, all of the story lines, the characters...this show deserves an Emmy! I wish them all the best of luck, brilliant Actors, Directors and of course the Creator, phenomenal!!!

-Cris L. Thomas

I rarely make time to watch television but, when it came time to watch "The Wire" I was 100% focused! I am an Administrator in Education and, I've really been able to relate alot more with my high school youth. The show was phenomenal! I am truly going to miss watching all the handsome men from "The Wire." God Bless them all and I looking forward to a new HBO series!

I'm not only a fan of the Wire but, I'm also a native of Baltimore City. I'm proud of HBO for there in-depth research of our city! At the end I felt emotions of sadness when I seen Dukie turned into the new Bubbles. But then I felt real happiness when I seen Bubbles accepted back to his family. And then I was pissed off because they let Marlo walk like if you sell drugs and get a good lawyer you can murder, sell drugs and walk away. But for real for real that is the streets-Baltimore, NY, Camden NJ, Phildelphia and any other metropolis infested with poverty, crime and drugs. Although it was a HBO TV series it touched me in many ways because it told rea

I love Omar, a real dude, much success brother.

-Camilla

I have so many interesting and poignant moments with the characters in The Wire...one of my favorites has to be the day Omar came out of the grocery store to get some cereal in his PJ's and slippers with a shotgun under his coat......just as nonchalantlyas if he was going to the curb to get his daily paper.

I will certainly miss this program..my Sunday's will never be the same. If HBO comes up with something else to replace this program..it had better be on point...I'll be looking for the straight up "rawness" that I got

I Loved the show because I lived it...as a 27 year old Army veteran...In 1981 I returned from duty in Germany to Washington, DC and the beginning of a crack explosion that turned my life up-side down. I smoked with Bubbles...bought from Snoop...tricked with Stringer Bell and ended up...twenty years later recovering in a twelve step program by the grace of Almighty God! Each week I watched while my stomach did back flips with tears streaming down my face. The names changed but the game remains the same. Iloved it cause it wa

This is the best cop show to hit the airwaves since New York Undercover, in my opinion. The writing, casting, and acting is exceptional. I got my son and daughter in law hooked in Season 5. Now, every Monday morning, he calls so we can discuss it. I bought the past seasons for him. Thanks to all involved. I no longer need HBO!

-Cheri, IL

My heart is sinking and it is hard to let go of The Wire. I was blessed to have been a part of The Wire from the very beginning. I played the evil FBI Receptionist (directed by Clark Johnson)in the pilot, which aired as the very first episode of The Wire. It was entitled "The Target".

It was filmed in 2001. You don't see me until the last 15 minutes of the show. Check me out.

-Toni A. Cooper

Why we love THE WIRE: Marlo Stanfield played by Jamie Hector,Snoop played by Felicia Pearson, Omar played by Micael K Williams, Bubbles played by Andre Royo, Stringer Bell played by Idris Elba, the kids! the cops! even the politicians! the writing! the honesty! It is simply the best that television ever had! More shows like this would allow for greater understanding of what people from all walks of life on every level face every day. I will truely miss it. I guess I can get rid of my HBO now, no need to keep it any longer

-Ze Thomas

The irony of The Wire is that this season focused on the media gone awry, the danger in the presentation of how an urban city like Baltimore is depicted is that people really think that the portrayal is true. The Wire is a flawed and grotesque characterization of a city that is located in a state that has the third lowest poverty rate in the country at 8.3 percent. Yes Baltimore, like Wash. D.C., Phila., Detroit, and Chicago has challenges, but we the consumers know the difference between truth and outright lies. Senseless k

-mfranks

The best moment on the Wire was when Stringer got dropped by Omar the man. He (Stringer) really had issues and his mess was extra. I am not citing Omar's life style becasue that is life real talk. But he was hard core to the rules of the game. Something that does not exsit out here in the streets of th egame now. Now what has happend to the code of honor of the game? The game has not chnaged merely the people in it have...

It has been the closiest to real life of the world today in the black areas and white for that matter. With all walks of life and the changes that go in in them. Our race has for so long been miss judged as to how we are as people and how we live and have desires and many different walks of life and styles. It is a great, great, great, show and will be greatly missed. another great mind at work on reality in the real world of what is happening all around us...

-ccbanks of Lisle, IL.

I love the wire because it gives everyone a true look and urban america. what seems unimaginable to some but is everyday life for those in our innercity. I love it cause it puts a face to the problem drugs have played in our community especially after you find out it was our united states government that brought drugs into the urban communities to try and passify us. I also love to see how the characters evolved like Bubbles and Naymon. But my favorite of all is of course Stringer Bell. He's just simply a beautiful BLACK man

-Charluv

My most memorable Wire moment is tied between when Marlo takes out the female who tried to set him up. And when Chris takes out Michael's Stepfather, that scene was chilling.

-Chocolate, Columbus, OH

The Wire has to be the best show ever!!! I am going to miss my favorite character Marlo. I watched the show since season 1 and I have to say he gave us some of the most intense scenes even when he said nothing. And I know I am not the only one who cried when Micheal had to let his little brother and doogie go. The Wire will live on through it's DVD collection, which I am happy to own.

"My name is my name"

I have seen every single episode of The Wire beginning from season one. I am been so into watching the show that I didn't realize that Sunday it would all be over. What I find most interesting about the show is the realism of how various systems are portrayed and the inter-relationship between those systems. I am also waiting for the movie!

-Anonymous

I have watched "The Wire"from the first season. I am saddened to see this eye-opening show leave the screen. We should be inspired to do something to help save our community just through watching this show. I say "thank you" to all involved in making this show a success. I will miss waiting for the opening song to play. Every season I liked the way they had different singers singing the theme song. I truly don't know what they could put on next that what impact communities the way this show did. I am going to purchase the DV

First OZ now the Wire where's the justice!!!!! LOL1 I loved the show and I will miss it.

-Georgia Peach

My favorite season was season four when they focused on the kids in the school system. That was powerful to see the school system just say F the children. I cried a lot that season, because I was hurting for those kids! I found myself saying, WOW,is this the America I live in! Oh yeah I cried when Stringer Bell got killed too. And to see Omar brains get blown out, by a kid. I could not beleive he let his guard down I seen that coming a mile away, when the kid just stood there rubbing that cat and watching as Omar walked by!

-Lisa - ATL, GA

I am waiting on the movie!!!! Hey if they could make a movie for Sex and the City why not !!!!

-T.Williams

I loved the Wire because of an old classmate and friend was in it. I was so happy to see that Lawrence Gilliard had got the part and it was some one that knew the area. He is also a great actor. Each season gave you something to look forward to. I wish it could be more season to come. I wish the best to the entire cast and God Bless you all.

-KATHY

The Wire to me is the most intriguing, compelling story line I have come across in a while. Every season took you to a different level of innner city living. A real eye opener to all that watched. I am really upset that this has to end....Penny, Onancock,VA

I want a R.I.P Omar t-shirt!

I don't know what to do with myself after work on Sundays now. I work gang unit and everything you see in the wire is real. Some of the real gangsters have been in the show since it started. Marlo was a fool for killing Prop Joe! My girl is going to tellon McNulty, and he put his head on the chopping block so everyone could get the overtime they wasn't getting paid for. Marlo is going down because of McNulty and his crue! Just think this is only 25% of what they could show us! SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!LOL

The wire has been part of my Sunday nights for a very long time. I don't know what I'm going to do now that the end is here. This has been the most exciting, riveting, informative, humorous, dramatic shows depicting life in the City of Baltimore, the school system, politics and drugs. All of the characters played their roles very very well. Stringer Bell, Barksdale, Omar, Marlo, Prop. Joe, Snoop, Michael, The mayors, the politicians. Oh what a show. What a loss to Wire fans. This show will truly be missed. Maybe the

-J. Smith

"The Wire" was unbelievably touching and easy to relate to. All the characters kept me glued to the tube, especially "McNulty" and his crazy sex scenes on his car's hood. This guy didn't care at all. I especially liked "Stringer Bell" and "Omar." Stringer was finer than fine. Omar kept it all the way live. I will miss this show definitely.

-Marlene

I did not start watching the Wire until season 4, and then I got hooked and went back and watched all the previous seasons. The thing that is so capitivating about The Wire is that so many people in the inner city can relate. The Wire was more of a fictional documentary that provided the many aspects of how the drug buisness can affect the community. There is no glorification to the drug dealors or the benefactors of the trade, which is very difficult to find in Hollywood.

Best Moment: When Nayman left his mother to go liv

-J J

My favorite moment of The Wire was the first season when we were all introduced to the Barksdale Crew and the extremely fine Stringer Bell.

-Cherese

I absolutely loved this show because it was the first and only show that I know of that showed the complexity of the drug war/problem in major cities in our country. Although the setting has been Baltimore, MD, the problems dealt with on the show pertain to all of our major cities. The Wire has shown us how many facets of our society figure into the failure to solve the drug problem. I have truly loved all 5 seasons, but may favorites were season 1 and season 4 with the addition of the young people and how they were affec

-Yvonne S., Charlotte, NC

I could be wrong... but think back to when Omar jumps out of the window...after that every time you saw him he had a predomiant limp UNTIL he walked in the store...NO LIMP... and then he (or some one that looked liked Omar) was shot. I don't think Omar is dead. The show had us thinking that Omar and Marlo was going to have a showdown. I hope they don't let us down like the last episode of the Sopranos. I am going to really miss this show. To see Webay son turn his life around was great!!! to see the path that Michael and Du

-WJ--Tennessee

I have watched The Wire from the very beginning and it's hard to pick the most memorable moment from the series. I was blown away by Season 4 - watching the "makings" of the future corner boys. This series has shown us just how complicated the problem of poverty, drugs and crime is in the inner city. I will truly miss this series and can't wait to see the final episode on Sunday!

-Brenda: Cincinnati, OH

I think this show should go on. The Soprano's went eight straight seasons, why can't the Wire? It's so many story lines that this show can go on with. My favarite character on the show was Omar because he did his thing alone. That says a lot. They shouldmake a movie out of this show because it's not over.

-cocoachanel5270@yahoo.com

Icried when dukie had to go back and live on the streets. The show seems so real.I love tho whole show but dukie really touch my heart.Good job cast and crew.

-dawn.AL

My favorite Wire moment was, when McNulty had his son's playing the spy and chase game. They were going after Stringer Bell. Then he lost the boys. I can't believe Omar got killed by a 10yr old. Now that it's over, we'll have to find somethingelse to talkabout at work on Monday's. Thanks for 5 great seasons.

-KS Detroit

My favorite moments were when Omar and his grandmother were going to church and they shot up the cab. I like that moment, because even though Omar was very gangsta he still showed love and respect for his grandmother by attending church with her and having a treuce on Sundays..That's respect.

-Keisha in VA

Oh My I had so many! I loved the 1st and 2nd season. The moment between Avon and Stringer they both had a sense that it was going to end for the both of them. As tough as Avon seemed to be he did not have the courage to kill Stringer himself for killing his nephew. I think Stringer showed Avon he was not the do boy he thought he was. I wonder if they will have an appearance by Avon in the last episode?

-Ms. Perry- Jax, Florida

I've watched The Wire from the beginning. I got my nephew and his Dad hooked by giving them season 1. Now my nephew is in the Air Force and I've been sending him Season 5 updates. He has gotten the guys in his company hooked. "The Wire will truly, trulybe missed and it should be nominated for an Emmy and win. Sunday nights won't be the same.

-JoAnn J.

As a public high school teacher in DC, I thought the portrayal of the reality of urban schools was so accurate. There are so many brilliant children with so much potential, but given their circumstances, they may become involved in truancy, drugs, and murder. I was so affected by how Randy, with the easygoing smile and entrepreneurial spirit in Season 4, becomes hardedned and cold in Season 5. I think the writers really wanted to show how the child with the most stable home environment and responsible adults has the best opp

-KD, Washington, DC

The Wire captured both sides of the drug war going on in America. Not just the law enforcement but also the drug lords. I have watched all five seasons and am always amazed at how the writers portray the two sides interacting. Most memorable moment when the Police finally captured a picture of Avon at the basketball game. Saddest moment, Stringer then much later Omar getting killed.

-S. Black of NC

My favorite was season 4 "The Boys of Summer" which focused on the lives of Baltimore's kid in and out of school...They never had a chance nor the innocence to begin with. Most memorable moment; I actually met and talked with Corey Parker Robinson (Det. Leander Sydnor) and he told me "I couldn't do your job in real life, it's too crazy!"

-John Montgomery

My favorite most shocking moments were 1)the episode when Stringer Bell was murdered by Omar. 2) When Omar was killed,(when the little boy didn't run I knew something was up)! 3)But I also thought it was crazy when Snoop asked Micheal, "How MY hair look?" And he said, "Girl you know your hair Look good." then he shot her! O my gosh I thought that was straight up thugging because she knew he was going to kill her and she wanted to make sure her hair was tight although she was straight up hood. That let the viewers know alth

Like everyone else who has posted a comment I am an advid fan. Since season 1 I have been hooked. What's going to happen to McNulty? I sure hope Dookie doesn't turn into a dope fiend, and that Michael can get away that young'en is much too smart to be a corner boy.

What in the world happened to Kenard and why'd a youngin have to kill Omar?

Will Bubble's sister ever let him out of the basement?

Will Lester build a case against Levy, the dirty lawyer? Speaking of Lester, remember when he was a dopefiend on the Corner?<P

-Tonya B, Houston Texas

Why is it that every time you put on a GREAT show and get us hooked, you end it? I am seriously thinking about not watching HBO anymore because I am fed up with this!!! First it was OZ, then the Sopranos, now The Wire.

I am sure I am not the only one who is tired of all the good shows being taken away from us. The Wire was one of the most authentic, captivating and intriging shows out there. I am truly sick and disgusted with HBO.

-Inzinga1@yahoo.com

I loved The Wire and watched all five seasons of this excellent drama series. What did I love most about The Wire??? STRINGER BELL -- Oh My God! Most memorable moment? When he kissed D'Angelo's girlfriend. Worst moment? When he was killed.

-PJ

I loved The Wire because it was cerebral. It made me think, question, hope and cry. Several moments have given me pause over the years - Stringer telling Omar and Brother Mouzone to get on with it, Marlo telling Prop Joe to close his eyes, it won't hurt none and Mike telling Snoop she looked good. Those scenes when we bid our faves goodbye...Wow, no more ON DEMAND late nights...

-TCH

The Wire kept it real as to what really goes on in the streets of B-More, but also all the streets in our black communities. I will miss The Wire dearly, but at least I am a little more educated as to the ways of the streets.

-Dream

Much respect to the Writers and all that's involved with the Wire. What will Sunday night be without it. I started watching the Wire and stopped due to another program I got caught up in. But since I have rented the seasons I missed and it made me wonder what the heck was I think. I really hate to see this show end. Thanks so much.

-Brenda B

WOW! I don't have a memorable moment. The entire 5 seasons was the greatest HBO series I have ever seen. As stated so often the reality of what the show displayed in reference to present times in America's urban neighborhoods was astounding! The best thing to happen after Sunday is to be entertained with a big screen movie! I would definitely attend the theatre, probably more than once to view it! All Good Things Must Come To An End huh? Oh well! To the writers thanks for entertaining me on Sunday nights!!

We have our own wire here in these streets, and we also have a new Mayor Michael Nutter who like Mayor Carcetti has made a vow to take back the streets.

I would first like to say thank you to the writers and producer of "THE WIRE". I have never been so into a TV series that much that I have not missed an episode since 2001 to the end. I feel like I have a connection to the show. I also grew up in the streets of West Baltimore; I lived a cross the street from the western district, my aunt started using drugs in I now live in Philadelphia (kill Adelphia) where my husband and I are law enforcement officer so we can relate to the corruption that the city must become accustom to

Let me first thank the writers, directors, and HBO staff. Job well done. You have brought two of the best shows of today's reality; Oz and The Wire. My husband and I are both Law Enforcement Officers and we appreciate you. You have a way of creating characters that everyone can relate to; good, bad, black or white. Although we hate to see the series end, we are both looking forward to your next project. Again, thanks.

-Treasa,

Why did mike leave Dookie behind. Also is it me or did this show end fast!

It is simply a "racist and bigoted" move by HBO to discontinue this show.

After all, the Sopranos were carried for five (5)

seasons! Five (5) seasons,of "garbage and bad acting!"

The acting in the Sopranos cannot even compare to the superior acting in the Wire. Yet they have a "shorter airtime." Go Figure!

There was so many issues in the Wire that cannot be resolved in one (1) night!!!

There should be at least one (1) more season.

However, "racism and bigotry" does not exclude Hollywood and HBO. This is clear

seasons! Five (5) seasons,of "garbage and bad acting!"

The acting in the Sopranos cannot even compare to the superior acting in the Wire. Yet they have a "shorter airtime." Go Figure!

There was some many issues in the Wire that cannot be resolved in one (1) night!!!

There should be at least one (1) more season.

However, "racism and bigotry" does not exclude Hollywood and HBO. Thisis clear

what will we do without the wire? there has never been a television show that offered soooooo much! Sunday night has become the greatest night in television for one hour while we became totally captivated with the characters, I too want to know why noone can help Dukie, why didn't Michael's aunt step in to help he and bug before now, and why did Michael have to give her money for her to help, what will happen to Randy, will Namo's sorry mama be able to be happy for the success her child has achieved? All of these question

-Dee

The Wire will truly be missed in my Household . Like alot of other viewers I would cancle my HBO also if I didn't get it for free( I work for the cable company)There are so many scenes and episodes on The Wire I loved, I can't begin to talk about them. Ithink it was a GREAT show. It gave alot of details of why our intercities are the way they are. You didn't have to be from Baltimore to get it. If your from in city you know about the things that went on in the show. I hated the way Omar went out and Boddie. I wish Omar woud

-Denise, Mo Val California

Although I have enjoyed other shows on HBO, the only reason I kept it was for the Wire. I have truly enjoyed every season. This last season I must say that I was rooting for Omar. I don't like the way his character went out, but that is reality. One happy ending I am really excited about s Bubble's being drug free. I will truly miss this show which has been the topic of my lunch table at work.

-Lisa from Cincinnati

The Wire is the realist show on TV. The politics are right on point. I will truly miss this show and its cast!!!

-Karlyne M.

Thanks HBO a job well done.I have so many favorite moments,I dare begin to list them all.My heart just broke when Omar die.Why can't the bad guys win every now and then?.I also had Bubbles back.I will miss The Wire.I will also miss the Monday morning talks about the show with the detectives I work with.

-Darlene

Dukie is so sweet and smart. He doesn't have a prayer in his environment. I was hoping someone like Major Colvin would give him the love and encouragement he needs to thrive.

-Jacqueline

I do believe HBO may be cancelled in my household next week, because we only had it for "The Wire". Two things that I longed for as this season progressed: Omar gets Marlo, and Dukie gets a family. But, this was not written as a fairy tale. It's not supposed to have a happy ending. Sometimes life isn't fair, and sometimes life really isn't fair. I cannot believe how Omar died. I mean he survives jumping off a balcony(seven stories?), just to get killed by a brat. Dukie is so sweet and smart. He doesn't have a prayer in his e

-Jacqueline

I love everything about "THE WIRE". I will miss it and don't understand why it has to go away. I will truly miss it. I was a loyal fan of it and I looked forward to looking at it every week. I kept HBO just to see it. I wish they would consider keeping it on the air. I wish I could meet the cast in person. They are an awesome group of people and very talented. I would like to know what is in their future TV wise. I would love to see more of their work.

-Deborah lewis

Hats off to HBO for doing this series! I have so many favorite moments because I start watching from the 1st episode-then got my older family members hooked. It's amazing how the characters have evolved especially the YOUNG ones. I really felt bad for "Stinky" last week. I work in the education feild and there are so many kids that fit his character. He's smart but there's no one out there to help direct him in the right path, I hope the "drugs" don't become his new family.

-Heather :-) / Bellingham,MA

I have to admit I was late to the show b/c I don't have HBO, but once I rented the dvd's from the library, I was hooked from episode 1. I loved season 4, it was just so real to me. The Wire made me think about our children and how the community affects us all.

-KC--Cleveland OH

Don't watch much TV, never saw it.

-dhae

The simplicity of a child blowing out Omar's brains to the complexity of the phone system in the projects, this show was well written and simply worked because "Hollywood" was not involved, excellent, cast and writers - outstanding work once again HBO

The Wire?s scenes were shot. While the hood was not as ruthless in the ?80?s and early ?90?s as it is today, The Wire revealed what happens when entire communities are ignored. I can recall when the residents of Baltimore City were proud, hard wor and educated. Once heroin hit the streets of West Baltimore in the late ?70?s, the police and local government basically turned a blind?s eye, which led to the social, economic, health, and educational conditions The Wire so cleverly focused on in easeason.

Now that

As a native Baltimorean, I was thoroughly pleased to see a show that reflected the true nature of inner city life. Each season of The Wire was like visiting my old neighborhood and stomping grounds, which gave me such an appreciation of how far I have come from Sandtown, a.k.a. Dope City. Before The Wire hit the airwaves, people in my circle had no clue as to how difficult life could be in the inner city and could not relate when I relayed to them my experiences growing up in West Baltimore, blocks away from where many of

McNulty ? I love that dude, he pushes and pushes until someone finally pushes back, got to work on that accent though, that English accent slipped in too many times, still funny as hell though, Snoop ? that could have been me, girly though, Young Mikecutie pie) reminded me of a boyfriend I had when I was 14, too young to know any better, but not too young to blow someone?s brains out (I cried when he killed Snoop), Marlo ?my *igga, he is the epitome of a true west side cat (low key and don?t play),eeze ? Method Man (o

I love the WirE because of it's mirror image of the unglamourous drug life I watched destroy many lives from the safety of my front porch.

On a lighter note...IDRIS ELBA...I came across a picture of him and I asked some1 , "Who the hell is this gorgeous BLACK man?" and I was told 2 watch the Wire. By the time this occurred, it was the last episode (and he was being killed...LOL). In any event, it caught my attention. I ordered the dvd of the back episodes and I have been a fan ever since.

-Dana from Jersey

I have been watching since day one and I think the writing is excellent. I think all the characters both rookie and veterans are great and pray that I can see them in future roles. I will truly miss Sunday nights with The Wire.

-JJ

What I'll miss is the realness of the Wire. I'm sad it's leaving. My two favorite episodes is when Det. Carver left Randy in the foster home and he was yelling "So you gon look out for me!" I cried so bad that night. And the episode when Mike got the jump on Snoop and she asked him, "So how you knew?" He replies, "you gotta be the first one there" Then she goes on to say "My hair look aight Mike?" He says "You look good girl" and POP! It's over like that. I can't wait for the finale!

-Mika

I can and will say i have enjoyed every season of The Wire. i have been a faithful Wire viewer since the beginning, when i first fell in love with Mr. Stringer Bell and i wanted Avon to be my big brother. i couldn't stand Marlo when he first appeared in season 3, but i learned to respect him and his crew throughout the seasons.every episode brought something different that i could relate to in my own life. i hate my sunday nights will be meaningless now.

Farewell......

-tameka talley- memphis, tn

I loved and watched "The Wire" because my cousin, Joilet Harris had a somewhat humorous role as the "street lingo" translation detective sitting the warehouse clipping coupons. I believe Joilet was wonderful in this role and I do believe it was a plus in Joilet's acting career. Thank you for giving my sista' a chance!

Also, the show was very true-to-life, no hollywood magic.

-D.L. Smith

I have been a fan of the Wire from day one and loved every show, and the Wire will be missed, I love the very first episodes more than the last. But all and all this was a great show and I hate to see the show go.

-Hattie Johnson

I have been a fan of the wire from the very beginning. Any time a season finishes, I cant wait until the next one comes out. Season 2 I wasnt too thrilled about but watched none the less. As far as season 5, the moment I cant get out of my head because it was just so real, was Duquan walking into the alley and the man shooting up. I think that was great vision on the part of the director because it was black all around and the only light you saw was this addict getting high and Duquan is walking towards him. I tell ya I coul

-T Gray - NJ

I gave up Sunday nites at the club, dates on Sunday nites and all of that - Just to watch "The Wire". I love this show and I don't see why it has to end. Be that as it may, my favorite scene was at the end of the last season, when Namond and Major Colvinwent to see Wee-Bay in jail and Colvin and Wee-Bay agreed to let Colvin and his wife raise Namond. I thought it was just an awesome scene!! I will truly miss "The Wire" and all of it's shady characters. God Bless!

-ana

My favorite seasons of the wire were the first and the one before this current season. I loved the way they brought the kids into the picture and made their storyline with the school system as relevant as they did. A few of the most memorbale moments have to be when major players met their demise......Stringer Bell, Bodie (who was my favorite corner hood rat), and of course Omar, the quintessential Robin Hood. I agree that this was a "thinking woman's" show. On the surface, it's completely contradictory of how I live my life

-LaTonya W.

Sunday nights will not be the same. The Wire has not received the recognition for the outstanding writing, acting and overall best drama on television. I will miss watching "Wire." I can't pick my favorite scene - I loved the show. I can say that I was sad to see Omar's end.

As real as television gets, so rich with all the multifaceted complexities of life in urban cities, reminded me a lot of living in New Orleans (with all the names changed to protect the innocent and guilty)but loved it all, especially last week. The riveting final exchange between Michael and Snoop, she did not plea for her life, she understood the game and her time, she simply asked, ?How my hair look?? and Michael replied, "You look good girl" before he shot her in the head.

?My name is in the street!!?

-cccoleman

One of my favorite moments is season 4 when we met Duquan, Randy, Michael, and Namond. It touched on alot of family issues, school systems, and just the way of living and how hard of a struggle that they had to go through. Each character had there own seperate problem. One of the best things about the Wire is that real issues were being discussed and that's what I liked about it. Thank You for giving us 5 great seasons to remember!

-Carla

The Wire was like the highlight of my Sunday nights. I have faithfully watched the show on HBO since season 3, and now that it's over I plan to catch up on the early seasons on dvd. My favorite moment in the show was in season 3 when the Lt. let the drugdealers have a part of baltimore and they called it Amsterdam. I'm also going to miss Omar, I hated to see him die.

-T.C. in the NC

Stringer Bell, Prop Joe, Bunk, Kima, .. The list goes on. This show was an urban soap opera. I'm going out to buy the series now. Anybody got the bootleg copies (LOL)

RIP - OMAR!!

-Kellie - Ohio

I really loved "The Wire" I think seasons 1,2& 3 were the best for me. I am a true "omar" fan I think that he really played his role in a real gangsta fashion. All the characters brought their own spice to the show and I think that is what really made the show such a success. I hope to see all the main characters in many more upcoming movies as well as new series.

-Anita

OMAR OMAR OMAR, What can you say about a gay thug. He was the real thing. When he came on the scene everything changed.

Stringer Bell, fine personifide. He is the reason so many ladies like a thugs. Commanding, fine, Sexy, fine, Smart, fine.

-Dirty Red

HBO will never be the same.

-Anonymous

The wire is the greatest show that has ever been on television. The charcters on the show are everyday people that we either know, live with, or love, or grew up with. It is a shame that The Wire has been overlooked for 5 years but the Sopronos were record breaking. Maybe if the show was about the Mafia it would be more recognized. But all in all I am very sad to see it go. The Wire will be missed. I wish all the stars of the show much success in their career.

-Reshunda Garth

Wow, I can't believe it's really over. I loved every season but Season 4 was my favorite. I cried every Sunday watching that season. I'm not from the inner city and for me to see what those kids had to go through day to day was disheartening. It really made me appreciate everything so much more. A scene that really touched me was from last week's episode when Dook was reminiscing and asked Michael if he remembered them all having fun and joking around the summer before...and Michael didn't remember. Whata wonderful example

-Shannon

The Wire was so succussful because the story lines were so relative. It shone a bright light on the ills of our society but more than that the story lines were at time brutally honest and real. I think that's why so many people were dram to it for the past five seasons. I looked forward to the quotes at the beginning of each episode. My favorite scene in season four where Weebay tells Colvin to take custody of his son Namon.

-Latima

All I can say is "The Wire" was the BEST show on TV period. I'am sure alot of folks are going to have alot to do on Sunday nites after the final show. There' not one TV show that replace it. There will be some major Sunday nite TV withdrawals. I hope aout pouring of e-mails to HBO will purpose a movie in the near future. By the way I was hoping Omar would finish the job.

-Ray Mackingtee

March 9, 2008 will mark the day that life will officially be dull to me..lol..I really am in a stoop because the wire is going off air. HBO has to find a way to bring back something if just a small movie about the Wire. I just cant get enough

-Devon

I am truly going to miss THE Wire. I've never seen anything like it where an inner urban city was showcased at his best and worst. Season 4 was one my favorites because I fell in love with the corner kids. The school segments showed me what teachers go through trying to find anything that would grasp students attention to learn.

I am buying all five seasons as this is truly a collectors item!!!

-t vinson - STL

I don't know what I will watch once it's all over. I was one of those who watched the next episode On-demand at midnight. The moments that stick out in my head the most was when Kenard blasted Omar and when Michael killed Snoop. She said "How my hair look Michael?" and he said "You look good girl" BLAST.

-Cassandra

There were soo many interactions and scenes that were memorable(Dookie + Prezbo, Namound + Bunny, Stringer + Barksdale, Omar + Bunk, Kima getting shot, Wallace getting killed).

However the moment that always stuck with me was Bodie's murder and the lead up to it. The scene with him and Mcnulty sitting in the park talking about how tired he was of the game foreshadowed the events to come, but still didn't prepare us for his murder. He knew what was going to happen, Poot knew and wanted him to run. He stayed, and went out li

-Lemu

Gosh...I am going to miss this show terribly. Stringer (with his fine self)was my favorite and when he was killed I understood why but it HURT. The kids in the school system was crazy but real with that they have to face daily in trying to keep off the street and get an education with very little funding and resources. Glad Bubbles got his life on track but the sad part is seeing Dukie with NO options and undoubtly will be the next Bubbles, strung out...sad. Micheal reminds me of my son, his looks and body build;I was not ha

Bunk was looking for a policeman's pistol and he contacted Omar. He spoke to Omar about the code in the Ghetto. The code of bad boys pushing good boys away making them go home from the party. Bunk told Omar that because of the unwritten code he went in the right direction. When Bunk was a teenager he wanted to be cool and hang with the bad boys but was rejected. This was the same code we had in our ghetto in Charlotte. I loved their exchange.

-Wanda O'Rear

i missed propjoe, omar. i will missed the wire, its just the best show i have seen in a long time. They should got rid of the rat cheeze, getting his uncle killed

The part that just moved me to tears, was after his foster home was set on fire and his foster mother was hurt in the fire and he knows that he is going to go into another home after the police let him down; Randy asked St. Ellis Carter; are you going toprotect me? will you protect me? I cried... The Wire really is the best series HBO has ever had. Well that other sho (S) was pretty good too but "The Wire" was the best.

-Lillie, White Plains, MD.

I have enjoyed the wire from day one, this show has brought so much of the meaning to the real world. I was raised by my grandmother after her passing I was sent to live with my mother who was a drug addict, so this really hits home, I can for sure say that this show was most definetly the real deal, as for the cast I wish you all nothing but much more success, job well done.

-shelita

Awwww!!! I am so sorry that a show like this has to end. I wish they keep airing episodes on HBO, and keep in on demand like they do with Sex in the City. I wish this show could be ongoing like the daytime soaps. I loved all of the characters especially the street characters like Stringer Bell, Bodie, Micheal, Snoop, Omar and Prop Joe (R.I.P to all). Method Man did an excellent job, his acting is on point. I was always intrigued by the woman at the police station with the bright blonde hair at the top and short on the sides,

-Erica N.

SPRINGER BELL! SPRINGER BELL! SPRINGER BELL! It's sad to say but now I see how women can fall hard for a bad man. He was so fine I often forgot he was a drug dealer.

-Melissa

This show was one of the best. You had to watch from Season 1 to understand how these worlds all go together. This show brought to life how peoples lives are changed by enviroments, parents, and school. This is how life is in Baltimore even to this day. With a city who's graduation rate is about 30-40% it is sad to see so many youth fall by the waist side. As a person living in Maryland it is so diffucult because there world is like a whole other place that no one talks about and does not dare to enter.

I will truly miss

-tee

I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE ON TELEVISION UNLESS IT WAS ON THE NEWS. THIS IS A GREAT SHOW AND I LOVED ALL THE CHARACTERS ESPECIALLY STRINGER BELL...I WILL TRULY MISS WATCHING THIS SHOW:(

-TW

I don't know what I'm going to do on Sunday nights anymore!!! I fell off during season 2 but after that, I couldn't keep myself away. After Sunday, I am going to cancel my HBO subscription. I no longer see the need.

-Bridget W.

Thank goodness for Comcast On Demand! At least when I'm having "The Wire" withdrawal, I can tune in and catch one of my favorite episodes.

-Mickey

My favorite moment of the wire was the first time people found out about "OMAR" because "it's all in the game yo." (Season 1) when he first hit up the Barksdale crew in the low rises.I think Omar made the Wire he was the bomb and I was sad to see him gettapped off by a shorty. Good Job on the wire. I think The Wire was the best show HBO has on in a long time. Great Job.:)

-Crissie Chi-Town

My Favorites were ALL the various sides of Stringer Bell!

Daniels was another favorite of mine...love that body of his! Whew!

Last but not least..the female officer. I loved how she played her lesbian role with her heart!

-Lou

I have been a loyal fan since the begining. I will truly miss the WIRE. The realism is unmatched in television history. My most memorable, heartfelt and destressing moments were the killings of Stringer Bell and Omar. I

Love, Love, Love the cast of theshow!!! I will miss you guys~Going to buy all 5 seasons!

-Pam

Of course Snoop's line was hot before Michael shot her. Marlo(sounding like 50 cent) going off in jail about Omar calling him out. Senator Davis escaping his just due in court with his slick lines. I will also miss his most infamous line "$hiiiiiiit" Lester figuring out the clocks (he's a genius). From the first episode, Bunk cutting off the Detectives ties when they are sleep. Loved them all from Episode 1 to the End.

-Ericka Cain

I have been a fan of the wire since the first season, although I really did not care for the second season overall it was the best show that HBO has ever had on it's network (aside from Sex and the City) I have all seasons on DVD exept the 4th & 5th season and I am looking forward to watching the last episode. My favorite characters are McNulty,Bubbles,Prop Joe, Snoop, Bunk, Keema, and most of LT. Daniels. I have comcast cable so get to watch all episodes on demand if I don't feel like popping in a DVD.

-Crystal T. from Chicago

I have never missed an eposide of The Wire. I've been a fan from day one. I know how everyone is connected through each season. I'm such a true fan that everything in my household stops on Sunday nights @8:45 p.m. so that I can get comfortable for The Wire. I only watch the show on Sundays. I'm going to truly miss all the characters. BIG UPS TO ALL THE WRITERS, DIRECTORS, ACTORS/ACTRESS', PRODUCERS AND EVERYONE that has made this show such a "true joy to watch."

-Wanda Manigo-Cartwright

I'm really going to miss The Wire. I really enjoyed watching it on Sunday night and I often watched episodes over and over again. I had a definite reaction when Prop Joe and Omar were killed.

-Cynthia

I am going to miss The Wire. This TV show is the real deal and mainstream media needs to stand up and applaude this talented group of actors, writers, producers and directors. I have enjoyed all of the dramas that have shown us all how things are from all angles. Snoop at the hardware store purchasing the electric nail gun. I can watch that over and over. And of course anytime Omar or Avon are being shown. 2 fine brothers. I wish they would of shown how Avon and Stringer got together and how Avon was passed the torch on

-Shawn

I am a true Wire fan the show is fantastic, but all good things must come to an end. It was gritty, realistic and raw.The writters really portray the heart and soul of the hood and the game. The entire cast was amazing and I hope to see them in the future. RIP OMAR !

-Tura

A fan since the beginning, but I must say that one of my best moments is when Poot killed Wallace (season one), Stringer having DeAngelo killed (season two), a sad moment Stringer Bell getting killed (season three), another sad moment Bodie getting killed (season four). I am so sad to see the show go. And Omar jumping from that apartment balcony (season five)

-Lisa

The wire has had great run and has definitely tastefully touched the realities of urban life. We may have watched every Sunday but it is someone?s everyday.

One moment in particular does not stand out; I hope to see the actors in more projects to come. think they've all done excellent work on the series.

-L. Davis, PA

I don't have a favorite scene because I loved every episode. The WIRE was a show that I wouldn't miss on a Sunday night. I could relate because I knew/know so many people that was out there grinding in them streets like that, and to see it on tv and to know that it's just happening where I'm from makes you look at what's really going on in the world today. Politics, Police Depts evrything. The Wire would be missed.

-cocobunny

This was one, if not the best "real life" shows I have ever seen. I loved it from the beginning to the end. All the characters were made to play the parts they played. I was shaken with so many different scenes. From Omar, "Omar don't scare." to Snoop, "Doe's my hair look aight?", this show was awesome. I cried for Snoop, Micheal and the whole situation and thought I would nearly jump in the TV, screaming NO!!!!! Needless to say, I loved that show and will miss it terribly.

-Nubnqt

This show was truly an educational journey. It didn't tell the story of the good guys vs. bad guys....it showed you that good guys and bad guys exist everywhere from the police department, to political office, to parents, to kids to drug dealers and thisseason to reporters. It was an amazing eye opening journery I will miss taking Sunday nights.....sidebar I was a big Bodie fan!!!

-Sparks

My favorite scene was when they walked in on Stringer Bell in the classroom. That showed a side that I think we all realize. That some of the people in that lifestyle are good businessmen/women. They just chose the wrong profession.

-Carmelette Anderson

I'm in love with Omar!

-kitten

I've a law enforcment background, and been black all my life and this is the truest, most educational and thought-provoking television show featuring a primarily black cast since Roots. Every character has nuances that you see grow and change from episode to episode, unless of course they get got at the most surprising times. Using Snoop's words, no matter how much I enjoy a character, "Deserve got nothin' to do with it." I love this show, and regret it's ending.

-B. Lewis
