I believe that Hilary Clinton is not going to run this country like her husband did. I don't believe she is sincere about what and how she will do better than Obama. I appreciate Obama's honesty and dislike for all of the atacks and bickering like elementary school. What do Clinton supporters think about her recent gas trip?

-J. Smith

I concur the most prosperous time in my adult life was during the Clinton administration. My family was able to buy property in San Diego, Ca. which is outrageiously expensive. I cried when the Republicans re-gained office because I knew I was about tobe broke again. If Obama becomes the party nominee I will vote MCCain in the fall. The media has savagely torn Senator Clinton to shreds. Once again we are coming up with a less than qualified candidate with only 4 years of public life and no politicalrecord to speak to.

-msljgrady

I'm a middle class WORKING black woman and all I can say is that I want EXPERIENCE running this country - a leader for the people. During the Clinton era, we the AMERICAN people (economy included) were in the best shape that we have seen in a LONG time. I support Hillary Rodham ALL THE WAY!!!! She has my vote, too bad others here in the Peach State did not think that way!

-Mary in Georgia

Hillary Clinton is no freind of black people.. march 11 1990 my home was burned downed by tge klu klux klan, i wrote the white house for 8 years to get help with what happen to my family..

i still have no answer...don't be fooled by the Clintons they need our vote, after that... we are not heard by them

-worner cruse sr.

I think that Hillary would make an excellent president! In addition to being very smart and having a great deal of experience her, spouse was our former president! When the Clinton's were in the white house, our country was run more smoothly! They were apart of the country, not the owners of the country! They oversaw the country as a part of it; they were not trying to be the rulers but apart of the country! I remember when Bill Clinton's limo got stuck in the mud, and he got out of the car and helped push it out of the mud

-sent before

Hillary is mad because the black President the comics and black leaders crowned (Bill) has to go up against a REAL intelligent eloquently spoken BLACK man. Geraldine is right. The media is facsinated America REALLY likes this BLACK man. Hillary is tired, played out and she knows it. Will she divorce the wh&^% if she doesn't get the White House like he promised?????

-B-more Girl

Thank you Obama and Michelle for showing America know that the Cosby show was not an illusion. It was real. You guys are showing the world that there are AA families that are way ahead of the Cosby's.

-fifty and phune

I loved it when he said that his wife Michelle is tall, elegant and commands attention when she walks into a room. I am weeping now just thinking about how he said it. You go Obama.

-fifty and phune

What does it mean to be a Democrat?

People, there is a reason we are Democrats. We believe in Democracy, in equality. We believe in people, ordinary people like ourselves. However, there is that segment of Democrats who, with the injection of a zeal to win a nomination, with the injection of presumptive media, and yes, with the injection of race, lean toward the negative.

When I first heard Barack, I was in awe and I felt a innate human connection to the party and to my fellowman (and I believe we allhave that inside

(Continued) opponent. I am now a supporter of Sen. Barack Obama, who has the values and quality Americans deserve. Hillary Clinton has disappointed so much that if by chance she does become the democratic nominee, I will have no choice but to vote for Sen. John McCain.

-Engrid

I am an African-american female, who up until recently admired and supported Sen. Hillary Clinton. I have been very disgusted by the vicious, underhanded and manipulative tactics she has used against Sen. Barack Obama in order for her to be ahead. She wants to scratch and claw her way to the top using sneaky and cheating measures. She is no different than Tonya Harding! Those are not the values that I believe in. I believe these campaigns should be run in a fair, professional manner; always showing respect for the other oppo

-Engrid

I never hated Hilary but she's shown a really ugly side during this campaign. Wheras, Obama has been very respectful. I really hope he gets the nomination.

-Lisa

I am extremely disappointed in Geraldine Ferraro statement ?(Obama) he has only been successful because he is a black man.? I am shocked and sadden that Clinton is running such a racists campaign and I can see why so many Republican Hates this woman.will NEVER vote for her or give money to the DNC if they don?t stop this racists campaigning. Mc Clain has more morals than Clinton.

-Jenn

one thing I have found out since this race has started is that the farther we get into it the deeper the race card is being dealt. There is no excuse for the comment made by Ferrera, and Hillarys' arrorgance will not allow her to all out reject her statement. I feel Ferrera said what Hillary is thinking and won't say it publicly.

I was wondering if anyone else saw Larry king tonite where Republican Strategist Kellyanne Conway made the statement that Clinton want Obama at the back of the bus. IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO KNOW WHO MONICA LEWENSKY IS VOTING FOR? OBAMA, THE EDUCATED BLACK MAN OR HILLARY HER EX-LOVER'S TOY ?

-INQUIRING MIND

H.CLINTON MOST FAVORITE SPEECH QUOTE : I WILL BE READY FROM DAY ONE...HAS REAALY PLAYED OUT ! IT APPEARS THAT THE ONLY THING SHE WAS READY FOR SINCE DAY ONE , WAS CAMPAIGNING DIRTY MEANWHILE, OBAMA HAS SHOWN DIGNITY AND INTEGRITY SINCE DAY ONE. EVERYTIMEHE SPEAK DR. M.L.K DREAM IS MORE AND MORE ALIVE AND THAT..IN ITSELF IS WHAT WHITE VOTERS ARE AFRAID OF. THE QUESTION IS, IF HILLARY WIN WHO'S DRESS WILL BILL'S DNA BE ON NEXT?

-MELLOW

Actually, Hillary is exposing the clintons for who they really are. It's amazing that they were able to fool so many black people for such a long time. Why are we constantly looking for the "great white savior"? Why can't we save ourselves?

-Swiffht

To all... Hillary has shown her true! colors...Barack has to be a little more aggressive.....

But the world is seeing hillary for what she really is..."Bill"...in a dress!

-brooklyn

Hillary Clinton has the same amount of experience as Obama. Serving as First Lady she may have been exposed to the working of politics, but if she is elected Bill will be in the background helping her.

Hillary can't even run her own campaign financially. She had to loan herself money. Obama has been able to raise more money and continues to run a organized and fair campaign.

I'm voting for Obama because he offers change and not politics as usual. He appears to be honest, aware of the concerns of thepeople. Hillary

Beyond the scope of some of the idelistic people who have ran to protect barack obama, on this very site it is clear that he is apparently conceding to her attacks. he claims to want to change goverment yet beyond the civil rights rhetoric what is there seperating the two of the democratic canidates. lets be honest as african amerians i want a president that can work the system because as soon as his new goverment ideal hit homes and pockets of some of his congress supporters how do you think hi sproposed legislation will go

-SAMANTHA

Why does it seem as though the mainstream media breathed a sigh of RELIEF on Wednesday morning after HRC won those primaries?

Her campaign tactics to date are deplorable.

And would someone please explain to me what EXPERIENCE she has? Does being a first lady count as political experience?!?

This woman will NOT get my vote. EVER.

-Southerngirl

Hillary did not make a comeback. I really wish the media would be more responsible in the way they're reporting the events in TX and OH Tuesday. TX caucus results are STILL being counted, only the primary was reported. Nevertheless, Obama still leads by pledged delegates and more and more super delegates are coming his way. Educate yourselves, people...and read from alternative sources. The US mainstream media is so biased in it's reporting. Don't believe the hype! YES! WE! CAN!

-PositivBlk

Hillary Clinton is still the loser. That is what all headlines should say. She gained like 2 delagates! As a Texan, she also did not win Texas. So I must correct you. Obama has won Texas with the delegates. I think the dirt Hillary slings is a slap in the face to all who voted for Bill. She needs to concede and accept a vice president spot. I believe Obama will win this in the end.

-Michelle from Texas

Essence, please expand the amount of space you give people to write. It's distressing to try to read these blogs only to have half of their comment cut off.

Very unprofessional.

-Karen S.

Anyone notice that many white female anchors/reporters are overtly and subtly showing a bias towards Hillary Clinton? And that SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, THE JON STEWART SHOW, and THE VIEW are overtly doing Hillary Clintons bidding? Whoopi Goldberg is such a hypocrite - she is barely hiding her support for Hillary Clinton. And Sherri Shepherd is hopelessly confused.

-Swiffht

And now Hillary Clinton has compared Barack Obama to Ken Starr. This woman has no bounds in her quest for power. I wonder what the black Hillary supporters are thinking. Are they still so blind to support her racializing & demonizing of Barack obama? Andwhen will Obama finally stand up to her dirty campaign - what is he afraid of? At that pace, she will steal the nomination from him.

-Swiffht

I am appalled that people were gullible enough to be influenced by the negative media portrayal of Obama right before the Super Tuesday elections. And, yes, Hilliary's camp was feeding the fires. We need a leader who focuses on the big picture -- democratics coming together to defeat the republicans -- but Mrs. Clinton seems more interested on her own agenda. I want leaders who put the common good of the people first. Obama has definitely demonstrated that. Fighting dirty (as Hilliary put it) is what has gotten this cou

As one who works on the frontlines for equal opportunity for all, I find the tone of this election highly disturbing. In many employment cases, brothers and sisters are being routinely denied opportunities on the basis of them not being the "most qualified," which is highly subjective. If businesses were run where only the potential CEO prospects who had the most work history were considered the most qualified, a ton of businesses would fail. Longevity doesn't always translate into efficitency and profitability. Particul

-Michelle in MN

I believe that Barack Obama is the most innovated canidate for President. I am a single mother struggling with two children. I don't want to vote for anyone in office who did not take that into consideration when they voted for the Iraq War. The economy is bad and I cannot afford to put gas in my car to go to work. I want a change. I am too educated to recieve TANF but still I can not make more than $10 an hour or have health insurance for myself and my rent is over $700/mo. You tell me if rich Republicans and Democrats care

-Michelle, Houston, TX

I believe the bigger picture is whether or not the Democrats can beat the republicans whether it's Obama or Clinton. I believe that the news media (republicans) are feeding us a bunch of bull. I do not believe that all these negative ads are coming from the Clinton side. The republican have big business backing them and they can afford to put out negative ads, using special groups, about both Clinton and Obama.

Tight Race, it is supposed to be tight. Anything accomplished easily is never appreciated. Everyone has an opinion and they are entitled to it, however when it all comes down to it, anything gained unfarely will surely self destruct. We as Black people need to stop back biting, hating and downright handing ourselves over to our enemies. The more negative energy we put out there, i.e. name calling the more ground the enemy gains using our own hatred against us. We need to rise above all of this and them and stop stooping to t

I say to everyone wondering what you can do to help Barak. Get out and volunteer to get voters out in all of the remaining states. Do not sit on your hands, get out and go to events. Go to the website all of his events are listed.

And don't forget the numbers are in HIS FAVOR. The Clintons will try anything to win even though she cannot catch him mathematically. We must get out and work!

-DGW

Finally, in 2008 we have a two formidable Democratic candidates, yet we reduce their candidacy to race, gender, and illusory promises. I caution all to weigh the history of producing of all candidates. Make your own choice, but by all means make it an intelligent, unemotional decision. Lesson for today, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. One of these candidates has delivered tremendously, even if she isn't our brother.

This is really sickening! She did not "win BIG" and I wish the media and all the Hillary supporters would stop telling that bald-faced lie. She won by a narrow margin in Texas and currently Barack is leading in the Texas caucus, but I'm sure the Clinton machine will make sure those votes get fuddled up and she'll come out on top in that too. This is ridiculous-if Barack had lost 12 contests in a row, the powers that be would have forced him to drop out of the race and given Hillary the nomination. The fact that she is a

I think that in the last week that Hillary played the gender card, and as a woman I'm getting tired of her doing this everytime her back is against the wall.

NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST OBAMA SHALL PROSPER. Both Hillary and Barak speak to the issues of change that the country so desperately needs. They both have the same amount of experience (being married to the president holds as much weight as being the daughter of the president and we know we wouldn't vote Chelsea in office with Hillary?s argument). Unfortunately, I don't trust Hillary, and her character is in question. She plays to the ignorance of her supporters instead of the intellect of his and that' why she'll loose.

One thing is for sure if Barack wins, it will be fair and square, but if Hillary wins, she might as well change her name to Bush. Personnally, I feel Hillary has shown her true self, and I don't like what I see. It seems that she will stoop to the lowest of levels to get votes no matter how much of a 'Player Hater' she appears to be. Barack has never tried to degrade or insult her, as she did when she said that she's the only candidate with experience and all he has is a speech? That is a total insult, since he has an ex

All of her issue stances have proven to be a failure from healtcare to Iraq. Lets get off the Clinton plantation, shall we. How will she face off with McCain on Iraq? Her defense will be, duh, I voted for the war just like you? Secondly, I'm sorry, but speaking of the race card, Hillary has truly played that card, and has shown her true hand, that of a racist.

-Zion

The Republicans biggest fear FL is having Obama as the nominee because he reaches across not only racial lines, but party lines. He has successfully cut into the young Republican voting sector, in addition to some of the more conservative white males. This spells trouble for McCain. On the other hand, Hillary is hated so much by Republicans until she unites even those who opposes McCain. Again, the only thing that makes Hillary presidential is the fact that she was married to a president. All of herissue stances have p

Over the past few days I have watched many racist people speak on this election. First there was the hispanic lady in texas that stated that the hispanics would not vote for a black man. Second, there is the 60 minutes town hall meeting that aired last Sunday where they openly stated that Southern Ohio residents would never vote for a black man...I guess these thoughts along with the biased media had an impact on yesterday's primaries.

With that said, I can look at this election objectively without having my emotions clouded by the Media and other well know endorsers. When the last vote is counted Mrs. Clinton will be president. I THINK THE CLINTON AND OBAMA CAMPS NEED TO STOP THE SELF MADNESS, AND DO THE ULTIMATE, COME TOGETHR, FORM THE PARTNERSHIP AND RUN THIS COUNRY TOGETHER AS ONE, IT WOULD MATTER WHO WAS PRESIDENT OR VICE WE NEED THEM BOTH, AND THATS THE END.

-VERNASSA

I must say that I agree with the ones who say that History will be made this year when a democrat wins the Presidential election....but let's have SOME MORE Black History made by electing the first African American to be President, so when February of 2009 comes around, the shortest month of the year, we will celebrate yet another Black historian.

-Anita

I'm so sick of HilBil Clinton, I don't know what to do. She claims to be so intelligent and so experienced, I think not. Just because she was married to a former President does not mean she has presidential experience. Also her math skills are off she can't catch up. Quit while you are behind.

-Lesha T

Hilary will not be able to do business for the United States, for the mere fact that she is a WOMAN. We are getting most if not all of our oil from Iraq, and as far as Iranian men are concerned, woman are on a much lower level than men are. So how in the world would she be able to do business with them, when they won't even want her in the same room as them to even listen to her. Democrats, please let's pull together and push Obama to the front so the Republicans can't stop laughing at us.

-Proud in Illinois

The only reason why Hillary is still in this thing is because the media is gullible enough to buy her spin. We don't pick our nominee based on "swing states," momentum or perception. We choose our candidate based on delegates. This is NOT the Republican Primary with a winner-take-all system. The Democrats have a proportional allocation of elected/pledged delegates. Hillary can't spin the MATH. My blog: http://reachblack.blogspot.com/

We have a chance to make history and not with Sen Clinton. I grew up in segregation and hatred and never thought I would live to see the day that an African-American would be running for President and be so accepted across racial lines. My elderly Motherwho for the first time drank out of a former "whites only" fountain at the Alabama courthouse would love to see this man in office before she dies. It is time for a change!

I think that Senator Obama would make an excellent President of the United States. I'm sick and tired of the media and people asking the question, "Does he have enough experience for the job". As far as I am concerned, "Yes He Does". All of the presidents before him may have had more experience than him, wich I don't think they did, and they all made HUGE mistakes. We need to look forward to what he can bring to us as a nation, being able to bring us together as one. Also, Hilary (a woman) cannot lead the country as well

I am a staunch supporter of Senator Obama for many reasons yes, including race but my support is based on so much more. Senator Obama could have easily sidestepped the Black community and excelled in other arenas yet he chose to give back to the people he so clearly loves. It is my opinion they(the reporters) and the Clintons campaign have went about creating doubt in voter's mind about Barack Obama. Ronnie, you're right....Obama needs to brush up although I think he will be able to withstand their tactics.

-teeky

Don't be fooled, the republicans wants Obama to win so that they can take him apart on the national security issues.

-Ronnie

Also, the only reason she wants him for her ticket is so she can take advantage of his vote count. After aligning herself with the Republican party by saying "I have many years of experience, and Senator McCain has many years of experience. Barack Obama only has a speech he wrote in 2002", there's nothing anyone could do to make me vote for a ticket with her on it.

-Karen S.

Barack Obama should NEVER, EVER be party to a joint ticket in light of the racist, fear-mongering and divisive campaign HRC is running. No wonder the Clintons are so hated in Washington. If BO does join wit her, I will vote for John McCain.

-Karen S.

I think that the Democratic party needs to stop and really think about what is most important for the Party as a whole. Whether or not we want to remain in the media as the bickering party or the one who can come together to choose a candidate that can WIN! The people are speaking and have spoken Barack is that candidate. Why do you think the Republican Party advised Republicans in the Texas and Ohio primary who could vote to choose Hilary Clinton...They know they can not win against Barack!

-Sybil Yates

It's going to be a close call but there is still enough time for either of them to win or lose. I'm on the fence. They both share very similar views and they are both speaking exactly what I want to hear. I don't care which one take the big seat and Iwill more than likely not make my decision until I am at the polls; but the bottom-line is, no matter which one we get, it's better than what we already have! This is a powerful movement so to all Obama supporters Don't give in, don't get discourage let's keep our eyes on the prize yes we can yes we can. I think a joint ticket is ideal, regardless of the order (Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton). I think both candidates should be willing to do this simply for the improvement of our government as a whole. The two of them working together would be a great deal stronger in the long run then one of the them being too egotistical to be second place. Hillary has very much counted Obama out because she has mentioned joint ticket and she being the head. No way I see Obama being second to that witch. I've also read that Obama is becoming weary. That's OK as long as he doesn't faint. It's a shame howHillary and McCain came out with all that negative stuff and still Obama has kept his cool. That shows me he's the man for the job. People, aren't we tired and fed up with this old mess. We need a change people. Vote Obama.

Senator Obama has and should continue to run hard in every state and territory. The comments by Senator Clinton's supporters that she wins the...."big states" is an insult to the voters in...."small states". It is this arrogance that helped turn middle America and the south against the Democratic party.

Obama has now practically cancelled her win in Ohio because of his delegate share in texas. Texas is reporting obama has gotten a sizable share of the delegate grab race there. HIllary gains 185 delegates, obama gets 173 from last nights overall contests. The only way for her to win the nomination is by stealing it. Which the Clintons are quite capable of doing. They should be ashamed for racializing obama.
