Manager at work will walk past employees and ignore them. He told me if I don't do him a favor by helping another store it could hurt my chances for advancement. He said: "not that I'm blackballing you but..." He says things like: " I'll deny I ever saidthis"

Great article. Just as a reminder, it's not only white bosses that bully. Sometimes our very own female counterparts bully other women. I know this due to experience. And as we all know jealousy among women at the office, or any other professional setting, can lead to subtle unnoticeable forms of harassment. Such aggression may only be noticed until it is too late in the relationship. And I certainly agree that earning respect must come early, as my own mother has taught me because everyone sets the tone of a relationship,

I worked at a convenience store and my previous supervisor was very mean where she would call me stupid in front of customers, and threaten me by firing me, or almost physically attacking me. I was in school at time, so on my days off would goto studyingor spending time catching up. I know for example somebody missed work so they were trying to call me in. I didn't go cause at the time I was studing for a test. The next day I came back she made me work a 14 hour shift with no break the entire weekend. She told me I am going

Thank you for the advice...I'm currently being bullied by a white male boss who is doing his best to remove me from my deputy management position. After 6 months of intimidation I have started to tell others of my experience;I'm finding allies and support within the most unlikely of places...it's good to talk!! I must urge sisters not to internalise the pain as it will lead to illness (I'm having to take medication for a serious skin inflamation caused by stress. Journal your anxiety and diary your day and seek professional

Great article. Don't be intimitated by Bullying Bosses because of their in position and power status, even in governmental agencies and elected or appointed officials. I had to work through discrimination, humiliation and racism and in the end...they left and I retired after 20+ years. Document everything and utilized the EEOC agencies in your area.

Bullied by coworkers, then by boss in Europe. Documented all, sought legal advice. During this time, diagnosed with cancer. Was fired, contested it, received three months pay, then in lieu of going to court, awarded additional pay for punitive damages. SEEK LEGAL ADVICE!

Good information. Can't say I've ever been bullied in the workplace but being a business owner and also working a job where I am in management I like to read information like this and absorb it so that I can make sure I don't develop any of these bad habits and begin treating my team members/staff unfairly. - Kani (www.blackartdepot.com)

I did choose to exit a position that I was considering leaving anyway, but the bullying made it clear in my mind that the job was beneath the standards I have for myself. I left an executive level, highly compensated job that mattered a lot less to me than values, respect, and integrity. I did document the vicious, uncalled for, sometimes threatening, emails I received from my psychotic boss who happened to be female. She bullied across gender lines. I never surfaced the emails to the corporate offices, but very well may

I'm currently experiencing a bully in the office; however, the bully is not my boss. This particular individual is considered to be part of our accounting department and I am the human resources department of our company. Although we rarely are required to work together, her behavior towards most is demeaning, rude and obnoxious and has been such since the day she was hired. To top it off, she is the biggest gossiper in the building. Her poor work ethic is recognized throughout the company, but she has yet to be corrected b

I experienced this about 3 yrs ago. I document everything reported to HR and she was fired.
