4 all of us who could care less about who actually wrote what Teri Wood just released TRUE TO THE GAME PART 2. Part one was off the hook so I ran to the store to buy part 2. Just an FYI for those who care!

seem like all of you are wasting time with jibberish with who wrote what. It's obvious, even though using various names, all posts are by authors hiding and lying behind fake names to promote themselves. it's a sad day for aa authors when you have to stoop so low. i am a reader and i come to this forum to share and read about what others are reading. i will check out "Convict's Candy"; Deadly Reigns" and "No More Pain". Thanks for the suggestions. Here's the last books I read

1. My Soul Cries Out by Sherri Lewis *****

The reason Teri is putting these books out in her name are because previous written books by the true authors did not sale. Do some research! Those authors agreed and signed contracts with Teri to release these books in her name. That means that she believe in these writers. Now that everybody love these books the authors are trying to get out of the deal. Who is using who? She used her name and those books could have flopped! Now that you all know their names and is waiting for the last book now its allabout the money. Kwa

There was a book that was posted on this site about a AA woman that got HIV from her boyfriend/husband. I can't remember the title but it is fiction...it was recommended to my book club-- does anyone know the name. It was written by a doctor but I remember that it was fiction......??? Help I want to suggest it for December.

-KIM, Ohio

I'm reading Deadly Reigns right now and am loving it. Teri Woods is talented. Nuf respect.

-Reader of all genre's

I agree Doing His Time was the best read of the year for me, Ms. Walker got mad skillz. This book was just as good as The Coldest Winter Ever, but winter can't touch Emerald. Can't wait for part two.

If ya looking for a good read pick it up!!!!!

It has been posted all over the web, check it out at sandrarose.com as the book of the month.

Well said, Narinda. I agree 100%

deceiving the public? Why is this situation any different? Essence bestselling/Street Lit author, as an author (and I use the term lightly), you of all people should be offended if this is truly your craft and talent. Your work could be at jeopardy next. As an author you should be embracing these other authors and their plight. Would you want someone else taking credit for your work, incarcerated or otherwise? Should a publisher have such liberties? Your work could very well be next?

-Narinda

I'm curious as to why any reader should give Teri Woods credit as you stated since she hasn't actually done anything. Since when do we reward "authors" for not writing books? Isn't that what an author does? Since when do we reward publishers who placetheir name on the covers of books and leave the author's name off deceiving the public and call that savvy? If that is what the literary industry has become, it's a sad day. Remember a singing duo that was ridiculed some years back for not singing their songs and deceiving

-Narinda Ripper

I loved Doing His Time and agree that it should be on this list. Eastside was a great read too.

-Jay

Author on a deadline,

"everyone of my books" - don't you mean every one?

"when you can simple buy them" - don't you mean simply?

I can see how your books must read. Let me guess, you are with Triple Crown, aren't you? It figures. You sure know a lot about jail. Did you recently come home? (lol)

-Anonymous

Essence best selling/Street Lit author - Sure you have a deadline, that's why you are over here watching the board every day. Makes a lot of sense. About as much sense as your books which I'm sure are GARBAGE. Selling 65,000+ copies doesn't make your book good. Just means the saying is true, there is a sucker born every minute!

-Alyssa

This board should be called "Terri Woods Dart Board," because all yall do is stick her. The girl is obviously a bad sistah. Anytime a black author can get you simple simons to read something (be it urban or whatever), then she's a bad mamma-jamma. And PAID too! If you want to be paid, then follow her examples by getting an author to write a book, make him/her sign a non-disclosure and paste your name on the cover--simple as that!

-Terri Ain't Studdin' Yall

EASTSIDE IS A GOOD READ.IF YOU LIKED DEADLY REIGNS,YOU WILL LOVE EASTSIDE,BECAUSE HE WROTE THAT TO.GOOD JOB CALEB ALEXANDER

-crucial keys-bk allday

Teri did not write any of her books. The only book she wrote was true 2 the game #1.All of the other books were written by someone else.

-Anonymous

Gina,

Thanks for posting about "Queen". I brought it Friday and stayed up all night reading it. I LOVED it! One question...Is this Cynthia White's first novel? I would love to read more from her.

-Monica Wilson-Davis

just simple buy them. Remember, those guys are in prison so they're desperate to make a few dollars to buy a few things off commissary & send some home to their families. (Speaking of which, that's probably how Kwame Teague pitched his story to Teri. (lol)

-Essence best selling/Street Lit author

Truth Hurts,I am not pretending to be an author, that would be too hard to do especially with the selling power I have. Now, I am not up here defending Teri, because I am not a fan! (haven't read any of her books) I am simply stating facts since I know alot about this business. I am sure those guys in prison solicit their work to Teri because I get stuff in the mail all the time. So, stop hating on her & give the sister credit that she's business savvy! Trust me, no one has time to steal jailhouse manuscripts when you can

-Essence best selling/Street Lit author

Alyssa, everyone of my books have sold at least 65,000 or more & I am signed to a major so I am a Veteran in this game. Aside from that, I know a good read when I run across one & Kwame's first book "Adventures of Ghetto Sam" was a horrible read & the cover was whack! (the two went hand in hand) So, to say his story went over people's head, simply means no one bought it & it flopped! And as far as who I am, I told you, read between the lines, since you read everything else. Got a deadline! Gotta' go!

-Essence best selling/Street Lit author

I just finished "Queen" by Cynthia White. I usually don't like Triple Crown books but my sister kept telling me I had to read it so I decided to give it a shot. This story was different from anything I've ever read. One minute I hated Queen then the next I wanted to hold her hand and help her. The way this lady put it down is sure to make her a best-seller. Check it out and you'll see what I mean. (Beware that the sex scenes are crazy hot)

-Gina Tate

Just finished Queen

-Anonymous

Hey I keep checking to see if Doing His Time by Nichelle Walker is gonna make it on here. That book is the bomb hope to see her soon. if ya looking for a good read pick it up nwhoodtales.com.

-#reader

@ Essence Best selling Author/Street Lit - It didn't flop, it just went over simple people, you know like you, it went over your head. Instead you write the same old tired story. So congrats on making the list too. Next time try giving your name so we can know how simple you really are.

-Alyssa

Kim Porter your dogging him is the typical black women then. Sorry but that is the truth.

-USA/All Day Long

To: Essence Best selling Author/Street Lit and CASSANDRA/CALIFORNIA - Welcome to the board Teri Woods, or is it Lou? How nice of you guys to drop in. Instead of PRETENDING to be an author, try WRITING a book for once. Amin, loved True 2 the Game. Whowrote part 2? We all know Teri isn't an author so it couldn't be her. What other locked up brother did she steal from?

-The Truth Hurts

Gotta spread the word about two great books I just finished: Everybody Say Amen by ReShonda Tate Billingsley (its a sequel to let the church say amen) and Redemption by Jaquelin Thomas (this book will have you shedding tears). Highly recommend!

-Keysha J.

Please read "No More Pain: Underworld Game & Deception Exposed". Great book. Full of game.

YES INDEED EASTSIDE IS THE BEST STREET LIT BOOK I HAVE COME ACROSS IN A LONG TIME.THIS STORY HAS TOUCHED ME IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS,I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE LOST OF A LOVED ONE,AND THIS BOOK HAS SHOWED HOW A YOUNG BLACK MAN CAN GET SUCKED UP IN THE SYSTEM DUE TO NOT HAVING A MALE FIGURE IN HIS LIFE OR JUST NOT HAVING SOMEONE THERE TO GUIDE THEM IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.THE BOOK IS NOT ONLY ABOUT MAKING A DECISION ABOUT BEING IN A GANG,IT'S ABOUT MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION ON HOW TO BE A YOUNG BLACK MAN ANDMAKING THE RIGHT DEC

-DELTA SISTER/MARYLAND

Congratulations to Pat G'Orge Walker and Victoria Christopher Murray reppin on the list for Christian fiction!!! Oh, and fans of Ms. Murray need to come on out to the Faith and Fiction Retreat in 2008, to meet her in person. www.faithandfictionretreat.com. Is that a shameless plug? It is indeed! Blessings to all..

-Tiffany W.

My book club had the honor of having Kenda Bell, the author of "For Every Love, There is a Reason" at our book club meeting in September. The novel was a fantastic read as she explores relationships from every angle. If you're ready for a breath of fresh air, this is the book for you! We anxiously await the sequel! Kudos to you Earth Mother for a job well done!

-Literary Divas Book Club

HAVE NOT READ THAT ONE.I hear alot of people talking about and I also seen the reviews on amazon it's rating is a five starer.I will definetly check up on it.

-go getta/harlem

has anyone read eastside by caleb alexander?the book is awesome,he really put it down.that is a very good book go check it out.GOOD JOB MY BROTHER

-CASSANDRA/CALIFORNIA

OMG, I agreed with you STREET LIT AUTHOR. Kwame has been crying like a baby. The funny thing is that he wasn't crying when he signed that contract and had his wife to cash that check. But, as soon as Teri starts making more money than he anticipated, now he wants more. Typical black man! Sorry but that is the truth.

-KIM PORTER/PHILLY ALL DAY LONG

You can say congratulations to Anthony Fields all you want, because if Teri Woods would not have put her name on the cover of that book, no one would've picked it up. Same goes for that guy Kwame Teague, because his first book flopped! I am so sick of hearing his mouth about Dutch! No one cares that he wrote that book. So, stop crying & be a man! You took the money she offered you from the beginning, why act like you got cheated? Stop being greedy will ya!

-Essence Best selling Author/Street Lit

Congratulations ANTHONY FIELDS. I just loved Angel. I hope Teri doesn't take forever releasing part 2 like she does all the other titles she publishes.

-Raine

I just read a book from an author I confused for Tracy Brown. In searching for Tracy Brown, I found this debut author. In fact, her name is Tracy Gray and her book is titled, Thug's Passion. A wonderful twist to romance and urban fiction. I rated it on Amazon.com. Wonderful, debut.

-True fan

Hey Olivia Stith Fan,

You shouldn't have put that "Than" in the title of the author's book. It's not in the title. If if was it would be "Then" not "Than." If potential readers think the wrong word is used in the title they will be hesitant to buy thebook.

-Janet G.

I am so appreciative of all who helped "For Every Love There Is A Reason" debut in Essence possible.

If you want a novel whose characters are unapologetically human and hit way to close to home... well this is it... Congrats to all

-author - Kenda Bell

"If God is My Lover Than Why is My Bed So Cold". A must read book for single women and married women alike, especially those who think they want to be single again.

Congrats Hickson! Even though Jason and Amin wrote the book, it was your hustle behind it!

Congrats to Hickson and Convicts Candy. Finally, the underdog is on top!

and her grandparents is beautiful. The ending was ...and a tear jerker. I can easily see this as a mini-series. I cannot say anymore without giving too much away, you need to read this book!! You won't be disappointed! Get the book today, you just have to read it yourself.

-K. Isaacs, Sacramento, Ca

DE in June, you were looking for a book with no baby mama drama and culture. BORROWED TIME is a beautiful story of true love. It takes place during the Civil War on a plantation. A love triangle between the half-indian, half-caribbean slave girl, plantation master and a Union Army Captain.

It's a story of true love entwined with true historical accounts. Awesome job Donna Michele Ramos did!!! This book will keep you turning pages until the end. The love story between Fawn and Cord, her parents, and her grandparents

-By K. Isaacs (Sacramento, Ca )

Kenda, I love the way you told the story of the urban women. It's more than a story.. It's a reality. It puts you right at the dining room table with the girls. Great Job Honey!!! Waiting on the sequel.
