Do The Right Thing
When you watch a Spike Lee joint, you're guaranteed to leave your seat feeling: rage, inspired, empowered or simply enlightened. In celebration of his staying power, we take a look back at twenty years of launching careers, keeping Black Hollywood employed and moving us to action.

Known to appear in his own flicks, Spike’s Do The Right Thing (1989) also marked the movie debut of Martin Lawrence and Rosie Perez who were backed by resident Spike Lee actors, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee and Samuel L. Jackson. The film, labeled "culturally significant" by the U.S. Library of Congress, was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry
