Oprah's Mum on What She'll Do After TV Deal Is Up

Oprah Winfrey's current deal with CBS will expire in 2011 and her production company, Harpo, states that she is still deciding what she'll do at that point. Winfrey first signed the syndication deal for The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1986.

Oprah has spoken of retiring a few times, but many think she's simply renegotiating her extension contract. It is also rumored that she may plan to bring her show to her network, OWN.

Winfrey has promised she'll announce her intentions by the end of the year.

Congrats on much success..while ALWAYS keeping it classy. I hope she is just as blessed in her next endeavor

It's time it really is time. Oprah knows not beat a dead horse. I wish some of these 9000 year old news casters would give up their jobs. I don't see another black woman making it as far as Oprah did in the business

I wonder who is going to be the new talk show queen or king? Tyra Banks maybe.

I am happy and excited for Oprah, those connected for her and her viewers. She is doing what we all should be doing growing, exploring and enjoying life. Sometimes I believe that we are so busy watching and idolizing that we don't realize these are people who deserve to do as much as they desire in their lives. Her living really does release a guide to living a good live and going after your desires. Oprah has given, given and I believe her new idea will still lead to triumphing for more then herself. I am proud she is black, she is a woman, she is over 40, she is a friend, she is an example, she is a sister, she is a lover of all people, she is self made...more importantly she is a human being that deserves to make the most of her choices with the life, God has given her. CONGRATULATIONS O, KEEP RUNNING, there are others running behind you.
God bless you and May He render you victor of even higher ground

Glad she is going off air wish she had left sooner.
