NeNe Leakes Issues Statement On Son's Arrest

The Real Housewives of Atlanta's NeNe Leakes issued a statement in response to her son Bryson Bryant's March 7 arrest for possession of marijuana charges.

"My son is not the first young adult to experiment with marijuana," Leakes' statement reads. "... tough love [is] in order."

This year we couldn't get enough of the ladies from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Every Thursday night like clockwork, we sat down to watch and live blog about the show. And you joined us by providing some of the most hilarious and thought-provoking comments we've ever seen.

It seems we weren't the only ones jonesing for the fierceness of Sheree Whitfield, Kim Zolciak, Nene Leakes, Lisa Wu-Hartwell and Kandi Burruss. On its premiere night this past season some four million viewers tuned in to see what the five Georgia peaches (and Dwight, of course) were up to, making it the highest rated premier for the "Real Housewives" franchise.

Bravo: Sheree Whitfield Is Not Leaving 'Housewives'

Seems like people can't stop talking about the 'Real Housewives of Atlanta,' even with the season completed a few weeks ago.

There are rumors everywhere that Sheree Whitfield was going to get the DeShawn Snow treatment, only to be replaced by someone who would bring a bit more drama: Usher's ex Tameka Foster. Tameka told ESSENCE.com way back in January of 2009 that Bravo approached her about joining the cast, but she declined the opportunity.

Bravo reps say that no decisions whatsoever have been made about season three and the rumors are false.

We knew watching this week's episode of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" would be tough, as the show highlights Kandi's thoughts on marrying Ashley "AJ" Jewell, when she had no idea she would be burying him today. We didn't realize how somber we'd feel after watching. Guess that's what happens when your guilty pleasure is now steeped in the reality of life and death.

'Housewives' Star Kim Zolciak on How Kandi Is Holding Up and Her Breakup with Big Papa

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" have had their share of ups and downs this season, but after receiving word last weekend that Kandi Burruss's former fiancé Ashley "A.J." Jewell had been killed in a fight, they are rallying around her like they've never done before. Leading the pack is Kim Zolciak, who befriended Kandi, the newest housewife, this season. Their union prompted Kim to get back in the recording studio, and with Kandi's help, create a new and improved version of her single "Tardy for the Party." In the wake of tonight's episode which centers around Kandi's engagement party to A.J., Kim tells ESSENCE.com how she and the other housewives are supporting their friend through this sad and awful time in her life, why she missed Kandi's comeback performance, and puts to bed the rumors about her engagement to Big Papa.
