Bob Marley Could Top Rich Dead Celeb List

Twenty-eight years after his death, Bob Marley is still making an impact all over the world. A private equity firm in Toronto, Hilco Consumer Capital closed on a management deal with the Bob Marly estate that is predicted to bring in some $1 billion.
According to CNN, Marley could end up the richest dead celebrity. The Marley brand already earns about $600 million and new Marley brand and products in Marley's name, from consumer electronics and video games to a skin-care line, are still being negotiated and created. Not bad for a Bufallo Soldier.

Jackson's Doctor Search Warrant Unsealed

Apparently the company that installed TV systems at Neverland is suing MJ for not paying. According to TMZ, Video & Audio Center filed a creditor's claim that alleges that Jackson paid only $25,000 of the $109, 504.85 owed for jobs done in 2003 and 2004. VAC says they already won a judgement for the rest of the money in 2007. Now they want $128,482.77.

Idris Elba To Play Superhero in Next Movie

Idris Elba has been cast in film adaptation of 'Thor,' the popular Marvel comic book.

According to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog, Elba, best known as Stringer Bell from HBO's 'The Wire,' will play Heimdall, the guardian of Asgard who stands ready to defend the city from intruders. The film, which also stars Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth, tells the tale of the Norse god of Thunder.

While Thor is slated to begin shooting early next year, Elba has a few movies due in 2010. First, he will star alongside T.I., Michael Ealy and Chris Brown in the bank heist film 'Takers.' Elba also recently wrapped 'The Losers,' another comic book movie co-starring Zoe Saldana and Columbus Short.

Chris Brown Hearing All Good

Chris Brown's court hearing was today. The judge looked at Breezy's progress report, which showed that he's completed 100 hours of community service and 52 domestic violence classes. Since everything looked all good, the hearing was over in seven minutes, according to TMZ. The next progress report hearing is February 18.

Rihanna Admits She Still Misses Chris Brown

In an interview with an Atlanta radio station, Rihanna admitted that she misses Chris Brown, despite the abuse, reports TMZ. Read more...

She is reminded of him, as she says, by "places that we'd been to together, music...things that come up that remind you of your ex."

She continues: "I've gotten over it but there's definitely constant reminders and a lot of it is listening to the radio, and songs that were our favorite songs, or his songs."

When asked if she can still listen to his music, she says: "When it comes on the radio, I don't turn it off. I like his music."

She also dispels rumors that she is dating 90210 star Tristan Wilds.

Gabby's Newcomer Status Could Mean Oscar

Gaboure Sidibe, 26, is giving established actresses a run for their Oscar, according to Variety. The 'Precious' star received three standing ovations at the AFI Fest premier of the Lee Daniels-directed film. Hollywood likes "breaktout" performers and Gabby's rising star status due to her performance as an illiterate, obese, 16-year-old single mother who's dealt with a lifetime of sexual, physical and mental abuse could be her ticket to a trophy come award season. If nominated for a Golden Globe or an Academy Award, Sidibe could likely be up against veteran players like Meryl Streep.

Alternatively, while Gabby's gaining popularity, last week the 'LA Times' reported that the Oscar crowd was less enthusiastic about 'Precious.'

Wyclef Empowers Haiti, Receives Award

Wyclef was honored with the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights' Ripple for Hope Award last night, for his efforts to fight poverty and empower the people of his native Haiti. The entertainer's non-proffit orgainization Yele Haiti offers disaster and hunger relief and supports education systems in the island nation--the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bono from U2 was also honored for his work to combat the AIDS epidemic in Africa with his advocacy organization ONE and (Product) RED.
