I get the concern. I am an educated black woman and about as pro-black as they come. But, I don't see the Wanda and Sheneneh acts as coonery. I believe this is strictly comedy. "Soulplane" was coonery to me; but not this. (I won't write a dissertation defending this statement and explaining all the possible differences between the two.) I look forward to seeing what these two come up with. Now after the film comes out, I may have a different opinion.

I am so glad that Martin and Jamie are doing something together.. My 22yr old son has all of the Martin dvd's I have the Jaime Fox show dvd's.

This is be movie that just make you laugh so hard you just may wet your pants.

I don't know much about Wanda, but I always loved Sheneneh on Martin. I'm also a big fan of both comedians so I'm happy for them and I hope the film does well.

You know what...It's really amazing how much some people talk negatavity about the comedy that Jamie and Martin has done and continue to do but yet they always watch there shows, so go figure. So for the comment that Reign made...wow you are probably the main one who's gonna go to the theatre and watch it but if not, don't hate just give these award winners some props.

I'm so excited that Jamie and Martin are going to team up and bring us some laughs - it is so about time. My TIVO is set now to record all the episodes of Martin. I just watched the one when Martin plays the karate guy and his assistant wants his christmas bonus - I laughed so hard, I couldn't breathe, thought I was going to pass out. My other favorite of Martin's is when he thinks his friends stole his CD player - classic. Anywho, I would also love to be a bank teller in this movie. Way to go guys.

To those who think this is a bad depiction of black women, my comment to that, stop being so serious all the time, live a little and laugh a lot - it will keep you young at heart. We know there are some women out their that fit the Wanda and Sheneneh mode and we know there are some women out there that fit the Michelle Obama mode and we know there are some that are can be all three of them intertwined. So let's be real... Oh one last thing before I go, Martin can I get a Bad Boys III.

Exactly!!! Why is it when we are funny or silly its called "coonery"? Some of us are just too damn serious sometimes. White people can have comedies and no one criticizes their characters. We create some funny stuff and its call "coonery" and "buffooner". This is not Step-n-fetch-it or Mantan Morris, bucking eyes and scratching their heads. That wasn't funny, but don't even trip! Ya'll know Wanda and Sheneneh are funny and we all know a Wanda and and a Sheneneh! I know I worked with a Sheneneh, gold teeth big dookie braids, and all. This same attitude does not apply though when white producers portray us in a negative light and dope dealers, and hookers, criminals and crackheads! I love Spike Lee but he is trying to start some mess with Tyler Perry about some of his characters, calling them "coonery". Tyler Perry and Spike Lee are both cinematic geniuses and are contributing greatly to the landscape of our world. Lets get off our sometimes snooty, high horses and see all of these characters for what they are FUNNY!!! I can't wait for the movie!
