'Good Hair:' Good and Bad News for Chris Rock Movie

After a blitz of press for Chris Rock's documentary "Good Hair," including running his fingers through Oprah's roots, the film finally hit theaters in limited release on Friday, October 9. The movie earned $1.1 million in 186 theaters over the weekend.

Though the numbers aren't huge, Rock doesn't have to worry about losing millions of additional dollars. The $5 million lawsuit against him was dismissed, after Regina Kimbell filed that the comedian got the idea for his movie from her documentary "My Nappy Roots." A judge ruled that the only similarities was the topic of Black hair.--CJ
