Tony Award-winning, Oscar-nominated actress, Viola Davis, is gearing up to take the stage alongside Oscar-winner, Denzel Washington, for "Fences."

Penned by the late playwright, August Wilson, the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama chronicles the journey of sanitation worker, Troy Maxson (Washington), and his struggle to provide for his family in 1950s Pittsburgh.  Davis will portray his wife, Rose.  "Fences" will open at the Cort Theatre on April 26.  It is the 12th work by Wilson to be presented on Broadway.

Davis, who earned an Oscar nomination for her work in "Doubt," has starred in two of Wilson's plays including "Seven Guitars" as well as "King Hedley II," the latter which earned her a Tony Award.  Along with her stage work, the actress is set to star in a seven-episode arc of Showtime's "The United States of Tara," which premieres this spring.
