Rapper Webbie Arrested For Battery And Holding Girlfriend Captive

The Baton Rouge rapper was arrested Wednesday for domestic assault and a slew of other charges. 

Louisiana rapper Webbie has been arrested over an alleged domestic abuse incident that includes allegations that he held his girlfriend hostage in a Comfort Inn hotel.

According to WVLA, Webbie, real name Webster Gradney, Jr., and his entourage held his girlfriend against her will with the rapper allegedly physically abusing her with an open hand, fist, and belt. 

Webbie’s girlfriend told authorities that he held her on the ground by pushing his knees into her throat. Officer noticed bruising on the victims body, as well as hematomas on her head and welps on her thighs and back.

The victim told police that Webbie took her cellphone and had been consuming marijuana and cocaine for two days without sleep.

Gradney was charged with second-degree battery, theft, false imprisonment, simple criminal damage to property and domestic abuse by strangulation.
