Saluting the First Father, President Obama

The President and First Lady hosted a backyard BBQ yesterday on the South Lawn. The annual picnic was held for members of Congress and their families, applauding the work they had done this year. The First Family served Chicago-style hot dogs and salmon from a fire pit. Last year, Obama made the picnic a Hawaiian luau to celebrate his home state...

One aspect of President Obama's leadership style -- which, depending on whom you ask, is either frustrating or admirable -- is that he does things on his own timetable, in his own unflappable way... It was a quiet weekend and the family stayed close to home except for a stroll over to a friend's house on Saturday for a backyard BBQ and the President's rained-out speech to vets on Memorial Day.
