Justine Skye Schools Fan on Colorism After Being Called 'Fav Dark Skin'

"This is not a compliment," Skye told the fan of the comment. 

Justine Skye is gorgeous.

There is no denying that. So when a fan tried to compliment the RocNation singer by calling her "my fav dark skin," Skye spoke up against colorism and how damaging it can be.

"As a beautiful black woman yourself, you should know that even though it may seem like it, this is not a compliment," Skye clapped back politely to the fan.

"If you can't understand that categorizing THE SAME RACE by shade is not okay, you must not have had it done to you by the right person yet," she added. The Brooklyn native's parents are from Jamaica, and she maintains a strong connection with the island.

Skye recently modeled a nude lipstick for "darker skin tones" for her good friend Kylie Jenner's makeup line Kylie Cosmetics Skye released a new EP, "8 ounces," earlier this week.
