Actor Gavin Houston returns to the show to play rehabilitation counselor Jeffery Harrington, and we’re always so glad to see him on our screen Tuesday nights (OWN). Ladies, are you ready to see more?
Houston loves a woman’s smile and one who has an immediate presence.
“A woman who turns me on is spiritually strong, independent, exotic, positive, easy-going, funny, healthy and trains at the gym,” Houston shares.
“For me the perfect date is an activity,” says Houston. “Something like going to an amusement park or going ice skating. I feel sometimes the deepest connection with someone is when you can just escape and go have fun and laugh and be a kid again.”
“I think people jump into being romantic or trying to impress the other person instead of just doing something fun to connect, being laid back, and letting all your guards down,” Houston shares.
“Switzerland is the coolest place I’ve ever traveled,” says Houston. “ I got to swim in the water below the Alps which to this day is one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. “
Houston actually got his start acting when he tagged along with his sister to one of her auditions and a well-known agency. “When they saw me, and heard me making jokes in the lobby, they asked if I would read a scene for them,” he recalls. “I put my personality into it and had them laughing and applauding. At the end of it all, they wanted to represent me and not my sister. She was happy for me, and in the end, it worked out for the best.”
“My commitment to the work and the love of the art keeps me going,” says Houston. “I love performing, and I love affecting people.”
“Acting has always been therapeutic for me and it also gives me a chance to use my imagination, play, and be a kid again,” shares Houston.
Houston’s striking feature and boyish charm are helping to make him an instant hit with the ladies.
Houston is still very close with his parents, and he tells us he’s always looked up to and admired his older sister. Aww!
“As a kid, my first job was with the talented cast of The Cosby Show and after that I fell in love with the art of acting,” says Houston.
“I currently live in Los Angeles,” says Houston. “Although I miss my east coast people, I love the lifestyle here. It’s sunny every day, and being vegan and into fitness, it perfectly aids the lifestyle that I have.”
Houston is no stranger to the drama his character encounters on the show. “I’ve also starred on the daytime soaps Guiding Light and General Hospital,” he says. “I’ve been on numerous shows such as The Cosby Show, Without a Trace and Wizards of Waverly Place, and I worked opposite Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary.”
