Deborah Cox's Squad Came Out To Support Her In 'The Bodyguard' Play

On her first date in Los Angeles, the singer's close friends came out to see her shine.

Good friends are golden, especially when they show up to celebrate your success. 

Deborah Cox is blessed with an amazing group of women who came out to support her opening night of The Bodyguard play in Los Angeles.

"When it's time to celebrate a friend, we roll DEEP! CONGRATS on #TheBodyguard," Yvette Nicole Brown captioned a photo with her and her gals pals backstage with Cox. Famous faces pictured in the photo include Angela Bassett, Dawnn Lewis, Kym Whitley and Loni Love.

As reported by Playbill, The Bodyguard debuted December 4 in New Jersey and has been traveling the country since. Cox plays Rachel, the role originated in the film by Whitney Houston. Judson Mills plays Frank Farmer, originally played by Kevin Costner.

"I think the thing with The Bodyguard is it's an iconic movie, everyone knows the music and it represents a moment in all of our lives and it's really going to be about making sure that I tell that story,” she told ESSENCE. "I can't wait to do it." Cox is very familiar with singing Houston's classic songs, as she covered her vocals for Bassett's Lifetime biopic, Whitney.
