While most know Keyshia Ka’oir for her grueling workout routines, and being engaged to the New York Times best selling author, Gucci Mane very few are hip to her entrepreneurial ingenuity. But the model turned beauty entrepreneur is here to let everyone know that she doesn’t follow beauty trends, she starts them.
Ka’oir Cosmetics is her namesake beauty line that’s become infamous for its super bold lipsticks. “What’s crazy is I started my line in 2010, and I’m the one who started the whole blue lipstick and the glitter lipstick trend,” she told ESSENCE.
When asked how she feels about being a Black female entrepreneur she said, “I embrace the challenges. A lot of brands have come out after me and clearly copied my entire thing but I’m not upset. I’m a trendsetter, it’s something I started and I’m still going strong. My business is huge right now, and I’m loving every bit of it.”
