Collecting his third win during the awards show, he took to the stage to thank God once again.

“I didn’t think that we were going to get this one,” he began. “I just, once again, want to thank God for everything that he’s accomplished for me, everything that he’s went through for me.”

Having only released his third mixtape in May, his acceptance speech mirrored much of the themes of the album--without God nothing is possible--and thus, the blessings just keep falling in his lap.

The proud father previously said it was the birth of his daughter Kensli who restored his faith and reintroduced him to the Lord.

Chance the Rapper beat out fellow Chi-town star Kanye West, Drake, DJ Khaled, Schoolboy Q, and De La Soul.

Celebs including fellow nominee Drake congraulated the 23-year-old phenom on his historic night.
