Music's biggest night turned out to be a huge night for Chance the Rapper, too!
The Chicago artist won Best Rap Album for his LP Coloring Book.
Collecting his third win during the awards show, he took to the stage to thank God once again.
“I didn’t think that we were going to get this one,” he began. “I just, once again, want to thank God for everything that he’s accomplished for me, everything that he’s went through for me.”
Having only released his third mixtape in May, his acceptance speech mirrored much of the themes of the album--without God nothing is possible--and thus, the blessings just keep falling in his lap.
The proud father previously said it was the birth of his daughter Kensli who restored his faith and reintroduced him to the Lord.
Nothing I'm doing currently would be possible without this girl right here. She's so kind and loving and brilliant and beautiful. And I wouldn't have her without her mother, so thank you for creating and raising the greatest gift I've ever received. Cannot wait to get back to this.
