Take a cue from the actress on how to make the most of leg day.

No stranger to sharing her workouts on the ‘gram, we could learn a thing or two on leg day from Tracee Ellis Ross.

The first time Emmy nominated actress from Black-ish—a fan of the Tracy Anderson Method—recently showed off how she keeps her legs tight and toned with a few reps of a simple leg rotation move and some ankle weights. And we couldn’t help but love how she ended the sweat sesh with a little Whitney Houston music.

Ankle weights are fitness tools that get fastened to your lower legs to create resistance while working out. While benefits include increased strength and the burning of more energy (and calories!), doctors caution that overuse can lead to  serious ankle strain and injury. So when recreating this workout at home stick to 1-3 pound weights until your legs and ankles are strong enough to take on more weight.
