It looks like the race to secure the Democratic presidential nomination is officially over.
After a long and hard fought battle for the White House that saw him gain a massive following as he went up against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in hopes of emerging victorious, Senator Bernie Sanders has publicly endorsed his former opponent for President. Taking to the podium earlier this morning during a campaign rally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Bernie was still fired up but equally as humbled as he officially announced his endorsement of Secretary Clinton.
“Secretary Clinton has won the Democratic nominating process. I am dedicated to doing everything I can to make certain she will be the next President of the United States,” he told the crowd of supporters. “I have come here to make it very clear as to why I am endorsing Hillary Clinton and why she must become our next president.”

He also spoke on teaming up with Secretary Clinton to continue their efforts towards a “political revolution,” while fighting for needed changes that will result in a government “based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice.” Watch Senator Sanders endorse Secretary Clinton in the video clip below.
Following the announcement, the potential future POTUS celebrated by excitedly proclaiming that she and Senator Sanders were coming together to defeat presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump. She later went on to applaud him for all the he was able to accomplish with his campaign and thank his many supporters. “Sen. Sanders has brought people off the sidelines and into the political process. He has energized and inspired a generation of young people who care deeply about our country,” she said. “To everyone here and everyone cross the country who poured your heart and soul into Sen. Sanders’ campaign: Thank you.”
Secretary Clinton is currently the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and is expected to be officially named to represent the party in the upcoming general election at the Democratic National Convention, which is set to kick off on July 25 in Philadelphia.
