Wendy Williams' Questionable Remarks on Jesse Williams, the NAACP and HBCUs Gets Backlach on Twitter

Wendy later clarified her comments and apologized on today's show.

Not everyone was inspired or moved by the thought-provoking speech Jesse Williams delivered while accepting his Humanitarian Award at the BET Awards, which took place in late June.

On Wednesday, Wendy Williams, tried to come for Jesse Williams’ call out of institutional racism, HBCU’s and the NAACP on The Wendy Williams Show.

She stated, “His speech was very poignant, on one hand. On the other hand, you know, I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically Black colleges. What if it was the National Organization for White People only? There’s the NAACP.”

In the end, Twitter returned Wendy Williams for store credit and banished her from the cookout.
