Anthony Mackie to Team Up with 'Mandela' Director for Johnnie Cochran Film

The Captain America actor will star as the high profile attorney in the untitled project, which will focus on police brutality in 1981.

Between American Crime Story and the recent documentary, O.J.: Made In America, people can't seem to get enough about O.J. Simpson's rise and fall and the lawyers involved in the infamous trial.

With this sudden interest, it was only a matter of time before Johnnie Cochran got attention too.

Anthony Mackie will play Cochran in the untitled project, which will focus on police brutality in 1981. The director of Mandela: The Long Walk To Freedom, Justin Chadwick, is making a deal to helm the project.

A release date hasn't been set as the film is currently still in development.
