Christian Louboutin made a name for himself with his famous red bottom heels, worn by celebrities and influencers alike. The brand has a look and a reputation that precedes itself, and now they've expanded into color cosmetics.
Last year, the designer expanded into the beauty category with the launch of a collection of nail lacquers, housed in a bottle beautiful enough to double as art. Last summer, they debuted their lipsticks. And now this summer, the line is further expanding into the color category by offering high shine lip lacquers, deemed "Loubilaque," available in eight gorgeous shades this July.
In a statement about the launch Louboutin described the lacquer as a product for bold women, stating, "Loubilaque is for the bold women who wants to bring attention tot her lips. When she wears Loubilaque, she feels its power through others' reaction to her."
The collection was inspired by his iconic shoes and features eight shades ranging from a true nude to his signature red. If lip gloss and lip lacquers are a beauty staple that you left behind in middle school, it may be time to re-think your beauty agenda. Loubilacque lacquers offer intense color pay-off and high shine without the sticky feel. Louboutin thinks of it as a "highlighter for your lips," stating the lacquer is not "coloring them, it's putting a projector on [them.]"
Granted, anything Louboutin will come with a hefty price tag, but can you really put a price on photo-worthy lips? The lacquers will retail for $85 a pop on the Christian Louboutin website. If you're hesitant about the price tag, consider it an investment piece for your beauty kit and your vanity, the tube alone is worthy photographing!
