Yesterday, Michael Strahan announced that he’d be leaving Live to pursue a full-time role on Good Morning America and if you thought fans were the only people shocked, well, you thought wrong.
Ripa was a no show this morning and TMZ is reporting that she is livid over Strahan’s announcement. According to reports, Ripa was blindsided by it. Disney announced Strahans departure at 10:30a.m., which is apparently the same time Strahan sat down with Ripa and executive producer Michael Gelman.
The mastermind behind all of this is reportedly Disney’s CEO Bob Iger, who executed the announcement and never gave Ripa or Gelman a call about Strahan’s departure.
Another source tells PEOPLE, the real motivation for moving Strahan is because the show may be on the chopping block. “Company executives have wanted to extend GMA to a third hour for years – fixated on it, really,” the source said.
Looks like the ish has hit the fan at Live.
