It’s officially NBA playoff season for 2016 and what better way to kick things off than with a flawless performance of the Star Spangled Banner to open up the first game in one of the season’s most anticipated playoff match ups?
The Golden State Warriors squared off against the Houston Rockets for game 1 on Saturday afternoon, but before the fellas hit the court, Destiny’s Child group member and solo star Michelle Williams christened the Staples Center arena with a powerful performance of the national anthem.
Casually dressed in a Warriors top and blue jeans with her stylish corntows still in tact, Michelle took to the floor to deliver a vocal performance of The Star Spangled Banner that the sold out crowd in attendance surely won’t soon forget.
Check out Michelle doing her thing just before tip off below.
Saaaaaang Michelle!
And this wasn’t the first time this year that the songstress wowed a sports crowd with her rendition of the national anthem. Michelle also delivered the goods during a Clippers vs. Lakers game earlier in 2016. As for what else Michelle has been up to lately, when she’ not busy belting out anthems for sports crowds, she’s out promoting her new line of bedding, “Believe Home.” However, given her track record with these performances, we doubt this will be her last time on the court!
