Must See: Queen Latifah's Docu-Series, 'From The Bottom Up'

The docu-series chronicles the life of five well-known Black women who fight to regain the public's trust after a tragic downfall.


The six episode docu-series, From The Bottom Up, takes a close look at the lives of five women fallen from  grace and fighting to redeem and rebuild their lives.

Sara Stokes, an aspiring singer from Diddy’s Making the Band, served time for domestic violence. Stacii Jae Johnson, a former Atlanta Mayor’s Office staffer, was jailed for a DUI. Kimberly Smedley, a cosmetic surgeon, served Federal imprisonment for a series of botched butt injections.

Players Club actress Chrystale Wilson had a number of run-ins with the police that nearly ended her acting career and Christine Beatty, a former Chief of Staff who led a long-standing affair with former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick all appear on the show.

Created by R&B singer Nicci Gilbert and produced by Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Entertainment, From The Bottom Up premieres tonight on Centric TV.
