Slave Owner and the Enslaved Share Their Perspectives in New Trailer for WGN's 'Underground'

The upcoming tv series debuts two new trailers, "The Wanted" and "The Plan" for the pre-civil war life of enslaved people who search for freedom by any means necessary.

WGN has released two new trailers for the upcoming escape thriller series, Underground.

Trailers for the prodution show the perspectives of the slave owner, Tom Macon, and the enslaved, Noah in the exclusive scenes titled "The Wanted" and "The Plan," respectively.

The 10-episode hour-long series revolves around a group of slaves as they covertly organize an escape plan across hundreds of miles to freedom with the help of ingenuity, power and strength under the direction of an enslaved blacksmith, Noah. The odds of success are razor-thin for those who make it off the plantation in a quest to complete the greatest escape in history while facing extensive risks, mutiple dangers and obstacles that manifest more and more every step of the way.

John Legend acts as one of the show's executive producers along with Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius of the GET LIFTED producting team. Jurnee Smollett-Bell, her brother, Empire star, Jussie Smollett, Mykelti Williamson, Adina Porter, Theodus Crane and Aldis Hodge among others will star in the project.

Underground premieres March 9, 2016 on WGN.
