Lights, Camera, ACTION!
After meeting as students while they attended college at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, good friends Diarra and Miles both had a hunch there could be more going on between them. That moment came when he was directing her in a play and a few extra sparks began to fly. “I had a crush on her for a lot of college but I loved our friendship and how well we got a long and didn’t want to jeopardize that,” miles recalls. “But towards the end of college, I thought, this is ridiculous. We should see if there’s something there!” And, there was. “He asked to kiss me one night, at a party,” Diarra adds. “And, that’s usually a classic mistake –you’re not supposed to ask! But it worked. We kissed that night and that was pretty much it. There was no going back.”

The Time Is Now
Ladies, if you think a proposal may be on the way, be careful which items of his you surf through, because you might just spoil the surprise. That’s exactly what happened when Miles planned to propose to Diarra. While on their way for a romantic vacation in Mexico, Diarra was fishing through his carry-on for their passports and saw the ring box. “So the whole trip, I knew what was up, so I was on high alert,” she recalls. “But, he didn’t propose right away.” One night, they had just returned from a dinner cruise and she went to check her email in the hotel lobby. When she came back upstairs, he had drawn a bubble bath and had a million candles burning. “It was for sure a fire hazard,” she jokes. “He tried to get me in the tub but it was too hot. Normally, I love a bubble bath, but it was August in Mexico. We got undressed and I dipped my toe in. I was like, ‘This is really romantic, but baby, I can not get in that scalding tub.’ So instead he built a fort out of hotel pillows and we got inside.” He talked about what she meant to him and then asked her to marry him. She said yes, of course! “It was very beautiful and romantic,” adds the bride.See their spectacular wedding day and share the love!
