Will Smith is returning to the big screen this upcoming holiday season as the star of Sony's new film, Concussion. The film tells the story of the forensic neuropathologist who made the discover of football-related brain injuries and his fight to increase public awareness. Concussion is set to hit theaters on Christmas Day. [Deadline]

Viola Davis is also coming back to the theaters in action flick co-starring Jennifer Lopez. Lila and Eve is the story of two grieving mothers who've lost children to violence. The film is premiering at Sundance. Producers are hopeful it will get wider theatrical distribution [Colorlines]

J. Cole's childhood home, 2014 Forest Hill Drive, could be the address of one lucky single mother. The rapper is planning to turn his North Carolina residence into a place where single mothers can live rent-free. "My goal is to be a haven for families. So every two years, a new family will come in, they live rent-free," Cole said. "The idea is that it's a single mother with multiple kids and she's coming from a place where all her kids are sharing a room. I want her to feel how I felt when I got to the house." [Madame Noire]

You may remember Tyler James Williams from comedies Everybody Hates Chris or Dear White People. Well, Williams trying his hand at more dramatic roles as the star of CBS' Criminal Minds spinoff. Williams will star opposite Gary Sinise as the brilliant Monty who uses his technological knowledge to help his team find killers abroad. [Deadline]
