Life Takes Visa; Miracles Take God

We must practic the act of surrendering, so that the plan for our life can work its magic.

“Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.” -Allen Saunders

“YOU-CAN’T-OUT-plan-GOD!”  Last week, on Oprah’s televised Lifeclass, Steve Harvey said it.  I believe him. My life affirms it.

For weeks now, I’ve been on a “miracle high”, having had the good fortune to witness the unimagined in the lives of so many of my clients and friends. Blessings so grand and compelling, they’ve made the original plans of those in my life who endeavored, laughable. In the best way possible. I bet if you pause now, take fifteen minutes and reflect, your life also affirms that God can’t be out-planned. Consider, for just a moment, all the things that seemed to have come out of nowhere and blessed you in ways you hadn’t even thought possible.

While we are indeed, as many teach, co-creators of our reality, it is deeply comforting and inspiring to realize that there is a master plan always unfolding. This divine plan, operating for our highest good is directed by what my papa called “sumpin” greater than ourselves. Whether you call it God, grace or the laws of nature doesn’t matter so much to me. What does matter however, is that you believe more exists. From this place of knowing - otherwise known as faith, one of the greatest game-changers in our lives can be practiced: surrender.

Say it out loud at least once, surrender.

When we practice this subtle art of discerning where we most need to retire stubborn beliefs, life-draining habits and mis-aligned intentions, we essentially dump the congestion from our lives. The congestion of fear. The congestion of wanting to control everything. The congestion of doubt, worry and all the funky negativity clogging our minds. The space made available from the decongestion allows the flow of miracles to be infinite, on time and without fail in our lives.  How about that!

How about getting quiet today? Ending the mental rehearsals of how things might turn out? What about surrendering your “played-out, copy-cat, stuck-in-neutral plans” for your life? Then be still. Find your center. Once there, move in tune with the divine purpose of your life. It’s a song that’s been playing in the background all along. Bishop T. D. Jakes loves to say, “everything the tree becomes was already in the acorn.”

What’s buried in your acorn? Surrender to it and move in to the grandness of everything your one precious life is meant to be.

Your Crossfade Tip(s):
Surrender your unwillingness to rendezvous with the experience of uncertainty.   Lean into it, even when and where you are most afraid.  It’s where all the magic lives.
