Here's what we're talking about this morning:

Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson dominated the box office this weekend with the premiere of their psychological thriller, No Good Deed. The highly anticipated film ended up being the #1 movie, earning a whopping $8.8 million on opening night. The film beat out Dolphin Tale 2 ($4.2 million) and Guardians of the Galaxy ($2 million). The plot revolves around a home invasion in which Henson's character has to fend for her life against Elba's character. Not only is Henson the leading lady, but she's also taking an executive producer credit, for the film. There has been a lot of buzz on social media leading up to the premiere and fans have been chattering about seeing Elba in a bad guy role. Obviously he made bad look really good. After the video evidence was released of Ray Rice punching his then-girlfriend Janay Palmer in the face, the NFL slammed Rice with an indefinite suspension. But Rice isn't taking that news lightly. Along with the NFL Players Association, Rice is working to appeal the suspension, as soon as possible. According to the NFL collective bargaining agreement, he will have three days to file the appeal. [ETOnline]

Frank Ocean's father, Calvin Crooksey, is suing Russell Simmons for $142 million after Simmons made comments about him on his site, Global Grind. The self-described singer, writer and inventor has taken offense to Simmons giving him the rep of a bad dad on his website. Although Crooksey has been absent from Ocean's life since the singer was 5 years old, he's convinced that Simmons' comments will cause future income loss. [Billboard]
