Tome Designers Top With 8 Black Models on The Runway

Designers Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo debut the most diverse show thus far.

We at ESSENCE live for the moment we can spot our fellow brown girls rocking the runway. On average there are about 1 or 2 per show—3 on a good day. So you can only imagine our excitement when a slew of Black models dominated the TOME show.

Since their Spring 2015 collection was inspired by two female Indian artists, whose work focuses on the old and new India, the collection took a modern spin on the Sari. That said, it was only fitting that designers Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo paid homage to women of color and continued their direction of reinventing tradition by having a wonderfully diverse show, more specifically, including this awesome Black girl army to show off their effortlessly designed collection.
