Last week, a video circulated that showed an out-of-breath Brown exiting stage left at a Mississippi show as the rest of the members continued dancing. While fans poked fun at whether Brown still had it, no one knew Brown was recovering from an “intrusive medical procedure”.

According to Brown’s representatives, the procedure resulted in serious exhaustion and fatigue that prevented him from fully performing onstage.

"I apologize to the fans of New Edition,” said Brown, “I really wanted to be with my brothers, but presently I am unable to give the fans what they typically expect from New Edition."

As for the other members, they say the show must go on.
