Michael Jackson’s recent hologram performance has sparked a legal dispute. In the days leading up to the performance Alki David, owner of Hologram USA attempted to stop the show claiming that it infringed on patented hologram technology. On Thursday a $10 million lawsuit was filed by Pulse Evolution, the company behind the Billboard Awards show. They say that David, “had no involvement whatsoever in the development of the Michael Jackson animation,” and that he has caused “immeasurable harm” to it’s brand and reputation. [HollywoodReporter]
The fourth annual Critic’s Choice Awards was hosted last night by Cedric the Entertainer. Orange is the New Black came out on top winning the honor for best comedy series. After a successful pilot run OWN has ordered eight episode of Flex & Shanice for the fall. The weekly one-hour docu-series follows actor Flex Alexander and his wife, singer Shanice. The show will document the couple as they bounce back from financial troubles. The program will join OWN’s Saturday lineup. [Deadline]

Disney star Zendaya Coleman has been named the new face of Madonna’s line Material Girl. Coleman will be the star of the brand’s fall campaign. The fun photos have a “Boardwalk Babe” theme and were shot on the famous Coney Island boardwalk in Brooklyn. Basketball star Dwayne Wade’s ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches is suing his divorce attorney James Pritikin and the city of Dolton, Illinois for allegedly setting her up. She claims that the both parties conspired to have her arrested for child abduction when she failed to return the children back to Wade after a weekend visitation. Funches claims that she was brutally attacked during the arrest. She is acting as her own attorney and seeking damages upwards of $50,000. [TheUrbanDaily]
