The comedian started a firestorm when reports of his homophobic rant flooded the Internet on June 10. Tracy later apologized for saying he would murder his son if he told him he was gay. “I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words,” he said in a statement. “I’m not a hateful person.”

Comedian Tracy Morgan is in critical condition after being involved in a six car crash in New Jersey.

According to CNN, the star was riding in a limo truck with six other people Saturday around 1 a.m. when the collision occurred, overturning the limo. Two tractor-trailers, an SUV and two passenger cars were also involved in the crash.

Police say that it is unclear who is at fault.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. first class Gregory Williams said, "The limo bus is the only vehicle that overturned. Looks like one of the tractor-trailers may have rear-ended that limo bus, but that's preliminary at this time."

The crash has already claimed the life of one passenger who was in Morgan's truck, with several others injured.

Morgan and five other passengers are now being treated at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Police are still investigating the crash.
