Halle Berry was named Best Global Icon at the Huading Awards, China's equivalent of the Oscars. The ceremony was held Sunday at the Montalban Theater in Hollywood making it the first time the award show was held in the U.S. During her acceptance speech Berry recalled the love she received from Chinese fans during a trip to Shanghai saying, “I hope that I will continue to be able to make movies and entertain the Chinese audience and I’m so glad that we get to have an interpersonal relationship with all of you.” [HollywoodReporter]

Guess who's coming to dinner? Rev Run is making his way back to the small screen with new show on The Cooking Channel, Rev Run's Sunday Suppers. With almost all of their children out on their own, Run and wife Justine make simple heartfelt recipes to lure their kids and special guests back for Sunday dinner. Chris Brown has been released from jail early after being sentenced to 131 days in jail on May 9. The singer was released after just 23 days. Brown took to Twitter to share the news saying, "Thank you GOD," "Back to the Music and the Fans," and "Humbled and Blessed." [TheUrbanDaily]

Common penned a moving letter to Dr. Maya Angelou, reflecting on their friendship, their first meeting, visits to her home in North Carolina and his gratitude for having the chance to know her. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mike Epps in an alleged assault. The assault victim has accused Epps and two other men of attacking him outside of an Atlanta club for making jokes about Epps. The victim accuses Epps of striking him in the face and stomach. He was treated at the Grady Memorial Hospital for bruises and lacerations. [HuffingtonPost]
