Lee Daniels' hip-hop drama Empire has been picked up by Fox for the 2014-15 season. Octavia Spencer's Red Band Society has also been added to the roster. Empire starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson is set in the world of a hip-hop empire and will feature original music by Timbaland along with an all-star cast. Red Band Society, a dramedy staring Octavia Spencer, follows a group of teenagers living in a hospital who become friends. [HollywoodReporter]

Jazmine Sullivan is officially back. The star is making her comeback with the first single "Dumb" off of her upcoming album. The track is set to hit iTunes May 12. The untitled third album is said to be on its way but has no official release date. [TheUrbanDaily]

Fox has officially picked up much anticipated series Gotham starring Jada Pinkett Smith. Playing coldhearted gangster "Fish Mooney" catch Jada as she serves in the upcoming show based on character from DC Comics' Batman. Watch the full trailer here
