Oprah is known for her giving nature, from giving members of her audience brand new cars, to creating a leadership academy for girls in South Africa.

Winfrey kept it in the family this time as E! News reports that she purchased a home in Wisconsin for her half-sister, Patricia Lofton.

The media maven reportedly bought a $490,000 four-bedroom, three-bathroom home for Lofton and has set up a monthly allowance so she can focus on her goals.

"Patricia's greatest dream was to go to college and become a social worker," said a spokesperson for the star. "Oprah wants to support that dream."

The ladies who share the same mother, Vernita Lee, famously met in 2011 on The Oprah Winfrey Show

Oprah expressed her gratitude for having met her long-lost sister. "She coming into the family at this time has been a great peace offering, a great symbol of peace-making in this family," she shared on Gayle King's radio show. "I would say I see her as a gift."

Since then, their sisterhood has continued to grow. "That was a new experience for me," she recently explained on an episode of Oprah's Next chapter. "To be in a relationship with somebody who actually didn't want anything but was there to be supportive of me. So, it's been really great. Really great."
