On the eve of music’s biggest night, where she is nominated for three Grammys, including best R&B song for “Love and War,” Tamar Braxton talks spirituality, never giving up on her dreams, and her hopes for tonight's ceremony.

What’s the last thing that made you remember to be grateful?
The night of the Grammy nominations. It reminded me of everything I’ve been through. I’m still speechless because it’s not just about the nomination, it’s about all the hard work and learning to never give up. I probably would have never seen that day had I let myself stop dreaming.

Share an affirmation or scripture that always gets you through the tough times.
"No weapon formed against me shall prosper.”

Finish the sentence: I am happiest when…
I’m with my family. You can’t buy that pure happiness.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My son, Logan. I didn’t know I wanted kids and I never knew I would be this complete.

Who has been the greatest teacher in your life, and why?
My mom. I learn something new from her every day. I wish I could be half the woman she is.

You’re on the road a lot. How do you keep yourself spiritually nourished?
It’s in my heart and I take it with me wherever I go. Everyone thinks I’m joking when I say “Hallelujah” on the show but I mean it. I live it.

What are you praying for tonight at the Grammys?
I don’t know. [Laughs] I’m just grateful to eat afterwards.
