The upcoming James Brown biopic, Get On Up, continues to beef up its casting with a number of A-list stars.

Jill Scott and Dan Aykroyd are among the latest to be added to the film starring 42's Chadwick Boseman.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Scott is set play Brown's wife. The part is being written specifically for her.

Weeks ago, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Lennie James were announced as cast members. Aykroyd joins the cast as Ben Bart, the president of Universal Attractions, the New York City agency that represented the God Father of Soul for more than 40 years of his career.

Get On Up, directed by Tate Taylor, will follow Brown's rise to fame, his bout with drug addiction, his domestic violence arrest and near financial ruin among other things.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting this month with a firm release date set for October 17, 2014.
