Could Jennifer Hudson be making a grand return to American Idol?

According to E! News, the season three contestant has officially signed on to judge the upcoming season. The news comes hours after rumors began circulating that the new season will feature a complete panel of former contestants.

However, Fox has yet to comment on Hudson's possible return to the show.

Viewership has dropped significantly over the last few years and producers want to shake things up. Producers are reportedly vetting the very first American Idol winner ever, Kelly Clarkson, to join the judges' panel. Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are allegedly in talks to join the show as well.

So far, Randy Jackson is the only judge to confirm his departure. News regarding Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban has yet to surface, but sources say they will not be returning to season 13.
