Halle Berry, T.D Jakes & Chaka Khan Among BET's 2013 Honorees

Berry will be honored for her humanitarian work, while Khan will be recognized for her contributions as an international music icon. 

BET plans to start the new year on a high note. Today, the network announced that its 2013 honorees will include Hollywood heavyweights like Halle Berry, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Chaka Khan, Clarence Avant and Lisa Leslie.

Berry is set to be honored for her humanitarian and philanthropic work; Bishop Jakes for his leadership and educational reach; Khan for her contributions as an international music icon; music executive Avant for his savvy business acumen and Leslie for her sportsmanship as a four-time Olympic gold medalist.

The ceremony, hosted by Gabrielle Union, will be taped on January 12 in Washington D.C. and is scheduled to air on February 11. 

Past honoress include Cicely Tyson, Jamie Foxx, Patti LaBelle and Whitney Houston.
