Fantasia is back! The soul singer is looking to take 2013 by storm. Today she released “Lose to Win” from her untitled fourth studio album.
The ESSENCE Music Festival alumna is throwing her hat in the ring with a number of artists prepping to drop albums in the New Year, including Tamar Braxton, Mariah Carey and Beyoncé Knowles.
It’s no secret that the former American Idol star has suffered a number of setbacks in recent years—namely her alleged prescribed medication overdose and ongoing drama with her partner Antwaun Cook and his ex-wife. On the brighter side of things, her baby boy Dallas Xavier turned 1-year-old over the weekend.
“Lose to Win” lyrics, “Sometimes you got to lose, to win again,” could certainly be a nod to her rocky past and a look to the positive future she’s building.
