Fresh off the heels of her historic Steel Magnolias success, Jill Scott is set to make a silver-screen appearance in the forthcoming film Baggage Claim. She's the latest star to join Paula Patton, LaLa Anthony and Lauren London in the romantic comedy.

Scott will play the role of Gail Best, the co-worker and best friend of character Montana Moore, played by Paula Patton. Moore is an airline attendant who sets out on a creative mission to find love. Scott's character offers Moore sassy, no-holds-barred advice about men while providing comic relief when her BFF finds herself in sticky situations.

Baggage Claim is set to begin production this fall and will tentatively be released in 2013.
