How did you meet your man?
We were on a couples date with a mutual friend, but we were each with our significant others. A year later we ended up together. (Long story!)
At what moment did you know he was “The One” for you?
When I realized he was the only person I wanted to talk to and how easy it was to love him. Movies make love seem hard. Real love isn’t hard; it’s easy like Sunday morning. (Ahh, ahh, ahh ahhhh!)
Who said “I love you” first?
He did. I’m a “show-you” type of person. He’s more verbally affirmative.
What’s one of the sweetest things he’s ever done for you?
I was out of town for work. I came home early to find Richard sleeping on the couch. The bed was still made up. The TV was on, and he was out cold. The whole time I was gone he had been sleeping on the couch, because he doesn’t sleep well without me.
How long did you date before you got engaged?
Did you have a hunch he was going to propose?
Keeping a secret from him is like holding water. He told me he went shopping with one of my female friends when I was out of town. When I pried about why he would do that, he said he was ring shopping for my friend’s boyfriend. Huh?! LOL
How did he pop the question?
We were spending the holidays with my family and it was Christmas Eve and I was tired. My nephew wouldn’t go to sleep so Santa had to show up later then expected. There are two things in this world that make me evil: hunger and sleepiness/early mornings. Well, that night, I was in full Evileeta mode and Richard wanted to open gifts. I didn’t want to. My mother kept insisting. I brushed her off and proceed to fall asleep on the couch. Then. I look up and Richard is shaking and kneeling in front of me. My first thought was, “Who trips in front of a sofa?” Then it hit me! OMG he’s about to purpose. I have no idea what he said next, I just know I said “yes!”
What do your parents say about him?
They love him!
