Today, Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter turns 31.
You name it, Beyoncé has accomplished it. Gold and platinum albums, check. Grammy Awards and nominations, check. Successful perfume and fashion line, check. Motherhood, check. Most Beautiful Woman in the World, check. The list goes on for this international superstar who started singing at the tender age of nine.
The Houston native rose to fame in the late 1990s as a member of Destiny's Child, which many consider to be one of the world's best girl groups of all time. The hard-working starlet made her solo debut in 2003 with the release of Dangerously in Love which earned her five Grammy Awards. In 2006, she released, B'Day, with many chart-topping hits including, "Deja Vu," "Irreplaceable," and "Beautiful Liar." Just two years later, the singer stepped into divadom with her third studio album, I Am... Sasha Fierce, which won her six Grammys, breaking the record for the most awards won by a female artist in one night. She released her fourth solo CD last year, 4, to a rave of critical acclaim. With hits like "1+1" and "Best I Never Had" the album, like most tracks Bey touches, is quickly climbing the charts as another classic.
As Beyoncé's music career continues to flourish, so does her love life. Her marriage to hip-hop legend Jay-Z in 2008 confirmed her as one-half of music's most influential and highest-earning couple.
