Dr. Dre and Tyler Perry also landed slots on the coveted Forbes list.
Oprah never ceases to amaze us. Yesterday, she was named one of the most powerful women in the world. Today, Forbes named her the highest paid celebrity for the fourth year in a row, earning between $125M and $165M in less than last year.
The past 12 months have been anything but smooth sailing for the former daytime talk show host. Winfrey signed off from the The Oprah Winfrey Show in May of 2011 after 25 years on air and immediately jumped into handling business on OWN. Forbes reports that much of Oprah's wealth was amassed by her other business ventures including O: The Oprah Magazine, The Dr. Oz Show and her radio deal with Sirius. It was also noted that the billionaire does not earn a salary at OWN.
Other notable names on the yearly list include Dr. Dre, who earned $110M over the past year. Much of his cash came from selling a 51% stake in Beats by Dr. Dre, which he owned a third of. The company was purchased for $300M. He is ranked at number five.
Tyler Perry, who landed at number six, also earned big bucks over the last year. The filmmaker took home a total of $105M. Perry released Madea's Big Happy Family, Good Deeds and Madea's Witness Protection.
