Idris Elba is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his role as John Luther in Luther. Just as well, the show was nominated for Outstanding Miniseries or Movie. This is the British-hottie's third Emmy nomination to date. He received two nominations last year: one in the same category and one for his guest appearance on The Big C.

Veteran actor Don Cheadle picked up a nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Marty Kaan in House of Lies. Cheadle has been nominated four times before, most recently for his guest role in NBC's ER in 2003.

Also, Giancarlo Esposito was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his character Gustavo 'Gus' Fring on Breaking Bad.

Not to forget the ladies, comedian and actress Maya Rudolph received a nom for hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live, while Loretta Devine earned a nomination for her guest appearance on Grey's Anatomy.
